Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Hello, my name is Shaunice Rene a.k.a. Misty Blue life took a turn for me when I became a teen mother pregnant at 14. I was 15 years old with a baby.
Music and performing arts were always my first love; it was something that just came naturally to me.
Especially singing. After becoming pregnant pursuing a music career just didn’t seem to fit the life I envisioned for myself and my son.
So, I dropped out of school and started working (how smart was that many would say) after a few years of failure and 3 children a Single mother . I decided I had to find a career I loved that would allow me to care for my children and still stay around music. I just couldn’t give it up completely. One day, I was sitting on my bed and I was thinking what can I do that pays well. I enjoy it and it gives me flexibility.
I love nails so I went to beauty school. Palace Beauty College located in Los Angeles, California I graduated about 11 years ago . I took my state board test, after 1600 hours of schooling ,once I passed I set out on my journey. After several years of working in salons, on set (video shoots) various other projects it allowed me room to keep my spirits alive.
After years of service in and out of salon environment covid gave me a chance to reach more clients than I imagined, I have been working on my online website so that I can share my creativity, merchandise, and homemade products all in one place. Healthy skin, hair, and nails are very important to me self-care is important to me. Never be afraid to love yourself.
I’m your Singing Beauty Guru. I’m here to share all the secrets!!! I want to help keep you feeling and looking your best. Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I had to laugh. Nothing is life worth having comes easy… I have had many good days yet I have had days where I just felt like giving up. Some days, I felt so uninspired. I had to learn to find things that would keep my going. Surrounding yourself around people you want to be like helps a lot.
I struggled most with organizational skills. I still struggle a little but I’m way better… It took lots of discipline and lots of sticky notes. Working longer than usual I found that playing some relaxing music while having me a coke gets me through… The most important thing to get through it NEVER GIVE UP … THERE’S MORE THAN ONE WAY !!!
Never compare your journey to others. Just because you don’t have it now doesn’t mean it’s not coming. Always be grateful for all you have no matter how small or large you can’t receive if you are ungrateful it blocks your blessings… Focus on what could be instead of what you don’t see.
Positivity is a must .. Surround yourself with it… Be okay with failure. Accept you won’t always win. Give back always. Give and receive knowledge for it is wisdom. Never deny a new way to learn. Continue to be watered and cared for so you blossom beautifully.

I love it all but I’m going to say nails are truly a love for me. I’m known for doing everything well but if I had to narrow it down singing and nails. If I had to say what sets me apart, I’d say my love for people and just want to provide quality service at an affordable price all while being clean and providing a safe environment always.
My ability to be so transparent. I just love what I do so what I have to offer is received much differently than many. I’m most proud of how successful my hair growth grease has gotten… Learning products can be challenging.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
No one will ever have the same vision as you. Do not allow others’ fears to be projected onto you. You are not your failures, they just build character for the day you have your success story.
I want you to know that even though it feels like many people share the same idea as you, there is still room for you to achieve your goals. There is enough to go around , leave your fears behind you.
If you never give up you will succeed, set goals and finish them.
