Community Highlights: Meet Tracy T. Rowe

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tracy T. Rowe.

Hi Tracy, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I am the third child, the second girl, of four. I was different; shorter, darker, and bigger than my siblings. While I wasn’t mistreated, I never felt seen or affirmed which led to self-esteem and self-worth issues. The short of it is that I was “extra” in every aspect of my life to cover my insecurities.

I was too loud, ate too much, too outspoken, but I was also hypersensitive to others that might share my insecurity plight. In addition to being a short, fat, loud, black woman, I’m also gay. That truth, unlike the aforementioned, was held as close to the vest as possible for as long as possible.

Now, here’s where it becomes oxymoronic: I’ve been with my wife for 28 years! How the heckle, jeckle, and hyde did I do that you wonder? Exhaustingly! Being in love with someone and being in the closet was the worst self-inflicted punishment I’ve had to date. Okay, so now that you have a clear idea of what I’m working with, know that I’m super extroverted and love people. The way I was able to keep all of those plates spinning was to focus on others and support them.

To keep the focus off of me, I became a master at asking questions and listening. I look back and realize I’ve been coaching for… forever! I was coaching back in elementary school! In 2019, my wife and I had been together for 25 years and decided to get married. All of the proverbial you know what hit to fan with some of my family members and friends. I didn’t know that they loved loving us as long as we didn’t think we should have marriage equity.

Those hurtful revelations forced me to reconcile with myself and I finally decided to own my full authenticity. I was fed up with acquiescing to others and knew with all that I had experienced I would do my best to ensure others felt seen, affirmed, and loved. My coaching business started in May of 2019. I have a ton of “Tracy-isms” including the phrase I coined ‘Everyday Amazing’ which simply means you have amazing in you that is revealed or refined every day.

I also wholeheartedly believe that each day we have is a gift, so I created my hashtag live like it’s a gift (#livelikeitsagift). I began with complimentary individual and group sessions that evolved to private and corporate sessions. I’d give my clients writing missions and encourage them to the journal. That led to me creating the Everyday Amazing Mindset Journal and Everyday Amazing Mindset Affirmation Cards in 2021.

My clients keep inspiring tangible support tools, wanting more affirmation-related products. This year, I released three-lined journals, an Everyday Amazing Mindset Get Your S.H.I.F.T. Together Notebook, and an Everyday Amazing Mindset Coloring Book (available on Amazon.com). I use the tools in my corporate professional development sessions and encourage others to use them or some sort of affirmation tool.

I’m confident that before we can see, affirm, and love others, we must see, affirm, and love ourselves.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has been relatively smooth with some speed humps along the way. I have a full-time position so, having a small business for me means late nights and early mornings.

There were so many things I didn’t know about the actual business of creating a business. Learning how to start a business is what I qualify as one of the speed humps. The other challenge is keeping up with social media and marketing trends. My industry is now super-saturated with people identifying as coaches.

I invested time and resources to earn my master life coach certification long before I started my business, so I’m grateful that differentiates me to some degree. People want to see sparkle or drama get bought in and I’m more sass and down-to-earth, so building a following has been challenging.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Tracy T. Rowe & Co. is a coaching and personal development company that is passionate about people being seen, affirmed and loved. We believe that making an investment in yourself is vital and provide resources to support you. I’ve always had a passion for people, so I use my gifts, training, and experience to help you achieve your goals, get your ideas realized, and provide you with tools that strengthen positivity in your life.

My mission is to help you go from thinking about it to getting it done! With more than 2 decades of experience, I help guide and inspire you to achieve your personal and professional goals. What sets me apart from other coaches is that I’m a Certified Master Coach specializing in mindset with tangible affirmation tools to provide reinforced encouragement.

I specialize in mindset. I believe with the right mindset, you can achieve anything. Unlike many others, I keep my clients accountable to themselves and support their evolution. I provide one-on-one coaching sessions, group Mindset S.H.I.F.T personal development workshops, corporate personal development training, and young adult professional preparedness.

I’m most proud that my brand is synonymous with uplifting, empowerment, and most importantly, affirmation. I see posts on social media of people sharing their day-in-the-life using the Everyday Amazing Mindset Journal and Affirmation cards attesting to their effectiveness.

I recently received a message from someone that purchased the Everyday Amazing Mindset Affirmation Cards saying the cards had helped them tremendously by pulling a card every morning, it established a routine that became a habit driving completion of unfulfilled tasks.

One of the most important things I share about myself is that I’m not perfect. Tracy T. Rowe & Co. represents that you don’t need to be perfect to be everyday amazing. I’m a coach, yes, but a person first, and use the journal and cards too! When I say I see you, I affirm you, and I love you I mean it.

I remember what it felt like to feel unseen and un-affirmed, so I’m lifting as I climb.

Any big plans?
Tracy T. Rowe & Co. is evolving! I’m excited to have added a relationship coach, Coach D. Wright, to my team. I have an expansion pack for the Everyday Amazing Mindset Affirmation Cards and clients are also asking for a planner and calendar for next year, so that’s in the works.

I’m accepting more speaking engagements and was recently invited to be one of the hosts of the new Red Table Talk podcast! It’s the official Red Table Talk podcast available through IHeart Media or wherever you get your podcasts, starting with Red Table Talk season 5!

In that capacity, I’ll be able to do what I love; talk about Everyday Amazing topics while affirming people!
