Community Highlights: Meet Trinicia Barnes of BareitBabes

Today we’d like to introduce you to Trinicia Barnes.

Hi Trinicia, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Everything started with me not really knowing what I wanted to do after high school. I picked up hobbies like doing hair and individual lashes, trying to figure it out as I went. Over time, I realized hair wasn’t for me — and I felt stuck again.
One day my mom said, “What about becoming an esthetician?” I remember asking, “What’s that?” I took a tour of a school, and I instantly fell in love with everything I was learning. Looking back, it made so much sense. I’ve always been obsessed with makeup and skincare — I just didn’t realize it could be a career.
After graduating esthetics school, I was still working as a manager at my job while building up the courage to take my state board exams. Once I finally got fully licensed, I started working at a waxing studio here in Memphis, where I stayed for two years. That experience shaped me, sharpened my skills, and built my confidence.
As 2026 approached, I felt a strong pull — like God was telling me it was time for something bigger. Time for change. Time to bet on myself.
And that’s when BareitBabes was born. ✨

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Has it been a smooth road? Absolutely not.
One of the biggest struggles has been battling the “what ifs” — what if it doesn’t work, what if I fail, what if I’m not ready? Stepping out on faith is beautiful, but it’s also scary. Betting on yourself requires a different level of courage.
Another challenge was making sure I took all the proper steps and precautions to be legit. From licensing and business structure to finances and compliance — it’s more than just being good at your craft. You have to protect your brand and build it the right way.
And honestly, one of the hardest parts has been relationships. Not everyone understands entrepreneurship. Not everyone understands the long hours, the sacrifices, the reinvesting, or the mental load. I’ve had to learn how to surround myself with people who understand this new journey. That growth can be painful, but it’s necessary.
Every struggle has stretched me, sharpened me, and strengthened my faith.

As you know, we’re big fans of BareitBabes . For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I am a full-body wax specialist, and I specialize in hard wax for every area — all spaces, all shapes, and all sizes. No exclusions. No judgment. No hesitation.
I proudly specialize in servicing full-figure women. In an industry where plus-size bodies are often overlooked or made to feel uncomfortable, I intentionally created a space where they are the priority — not an afterthought.
Waxing is intimate. It’s vulnerable. You’re literally trusting someone in your most exposed moments. That requires skill, professionalism, and emotional awareness. I don’t just remove hair — I create an experience where my clients feel safe, confident, and seen.
Representation matters. Walking into a room and seeing someone who looks like you, who understands you, and who honors your body without shame — that changes everything. It removes fear. It builds trust. It empowers.
At BareitBabes, body confidence isn’t just talked about — it’s practiced. Every body is worthy. Every body is beautiful. And every body deserves expert care.

What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me is my faith and staying true to who I am. I never want success to change the reason I started. My morals and beliefs are the foundation of everything I build. I truly believe that when you stay aligned with God and your purpose, the right doors will open. But the moment you stray away from that, you risk losing the path that was meant for you.
I also carry deep gratitude for the family and friends who believed in me from the very beginning. The ones who saw my vision before it fully existed, who supported my dreams, and reminded me to keep going even when things weren’t easy. Their belief in me helped fuel my own, and that kind of support is something I’ll never take for granted. And I’m incredibly thankful for my clients. The way they show up, support my business, and trust me with such a personal and vulnerable service means everything to me. Their loyalty, encouragement, and belief in my work is a huge part of why I’m able to keep growing and doing what I love every day.
