Today we’d like to introduce you to Alicia Smith and Misty Moore.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Misty and I met in beauty school in 2007 and became instant best friends.
We are both first-time business owners and had no idea what all is actually involved in starting/opening a business. But we were fortunate how things just fell into place for us.
The first thing is our location. The minute we walked into our space, we knew this would be home to Wildflower Salon. We have the prettiest little spot in Hernando’s busy town square.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It wasn’t necessarily a “smooth” road getting to this point, more like a bumpy road with some twists and sharp turns!
We really had no clue what opening your own business entailed.
We just grabbed hands and took the leap, and learned as went along (and still learning). Luckily, we had some of the most amazing people on our team that held our hands and took that leap with us.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We have such a wonderful team of stylists.
Most of us have worked together for years, so we know each other’s strengths and weaknesses. We pride ourselves on staying up to date on all the latest hair trends. We offer all hair coloring and haircutting services, trained and certified extension specialists, keratin smoothing treatments, make-up, formal occasion hair, and more!
Wildflower salon is a modern meets boho, chic salon with an upscale, yet relaxed atmosphere. Just like a wildflower, we encourage your own uniqueness and beauty and We strive for every guest to leave feeling their best and wanting to tell everyone they know about their wildflower experience!
We are looking forward to settling in and really getting to know the people of this wonderful community.
We want to get involved with all the things this quaint little town has to offer & give back to the community that has been so gracious and receiving of us.
