Today we’d like to introduce you to Amber Lovelyy
Hi Amber, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I developed a passion for hair at a young age. I learned how to braid hair at the young age of 10. In my sophomore year of high school, I took a cosmetology course. As the years went on, my braiding skills only grew stronger. The passion I have for hair has grown over time. I want to become a hairstylist who offers healthy hair care and beautiful hair services to clients in my community. At 21, I attended Paul Mitchell School in Memphis to become the best of the best. I perfected my skills in wig making, braiding, and locs. I aspire to own my salon, hair salon, and hair care line.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
As a young new stylist, we need help gaining the trust of new clients. New stylists need help growing clientele after cosmetology school because they have more experience than licensed professionals. People are scared to trust a newly graduated cosmetologist, but we must start somewhere.
Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am an up-and-coming Renaissance woman with a talent for hair, beauty, and fashion. I mainly specialize in hair. My hair skills are mostly self-learned. In this industry, styles constantly change, and keeping up with the latest trends is necessary. I am so proud of never giving up on myself when it comes to my goals and dreams in my career. I am always learning new techniques to give excellent results and look perfect. Practice makes perfect, and it is the best advice I would give anyone working in the beauty industry.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I am currently a brand ambassador for different companies. Red by Kiss, their new hairline collection Vivance by Kiss, and Mayven Hair have added me as a new addition to the team.
