Today we’d like to introduce you to Destiny Lavish.
Hi Destiny, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
The year of 2019 is when I began to expand myself on social media. Not just showing my college life and friends, but showing everyone my creativity and fashion. I just loved styling myself in unique yet clean ways and loved taking pictures. I wasn’t doing this for recognition, I was doing this because I love fashion and taking pictures. In 2020, this is when everything started to unfold in ways I never imagined. I began to get recognition from big brands such as Fashion Nova, Pretty Little Things, Revolve, JurllyShe, etc. Even brands in the UK and Nigeria. This is when I began to take content seriously because not only do I love my own style, but different people from all over the world gravitated towards me.
Starting doing content videos on TikTok in 2022 is where I began to have wonderful supporter. Everyone that follows me knows that they are not just my followers, but my social media family. I went live doing story times, telling my supporters, “this is our FaceTime call”. They loved not only my fashion content, but my comedy and astrology content. Without my Lavish Gang, I wouldn’t be the favorite Uncle I am today.
Within the last 4 years I’ve been opening small businesses, working with big clothing brands such as AKIRA, styling many clients for events, and working hard none stop. I’ve opened up my Virtual Styling company StyledByNEVIOR and also started up my trucking company No Limit Transportation LLC. The year of 2019 I opened my first clothing brand ever Des Beautyville and I haven’t stopped being the business woman I am ever since. No matter how far I feel I came I never stopped the grind because it’s always more to do.
In 2026, I began to take music seriously and stopped hiding behind the curtains. I knew since 10 years old that I loved rapping, making rapping girl groups and preforming doing rap battles at lunch. I decided to take a big leap and record my first single and it was produced by Bigg Cuz from Houston TX. To know I’m not a professional in the studio and he saw the greatest potential in me had me going harder. My name is Destiny Lavish and my artist name is Uncle Lavish. Every since my first single I’ve preformed on stage opening up for Scarlip and Sukihana, preforming BET Award Weekend, getting offers from celebrities and influencers that love my music, and recorded my latest single “TITN” by Uncle Lavish.
I travel daily going to different states to network, build, and spread the word about everyone’s favorite Uncle, Uncle Lavish. The grind never stops.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
This definitely was not an easy route where everything lands in my hands. Funding for everything I’ve done and accomplished in my life isn’t from getting help, it’s from working hard everyday with no distractions. No matter if I was running my companies to become successful with my entertainment life or working my 9-5 getting paid $13 an hour, I worked hard everyday to get to where I am. I definitely had distractions along the way in 2023-2024, but that’s when you live, learn and keep going. You can’t let one failure bring you down because everyone failed multiple times in their life before they reached to the top.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m known for my content creation, fashion, trucking status, and my music. It started from me just doing this because it’s my passion to the audience loving what I do so I love sharing to my Lavish Gang my lifestyle. What I’m most proud of is not only my trucking company, but me getting out of my shell and starting music. I knew I was talented, but I never thought I could be a well known artist because I’m just a woman from Arkansas that was poor all my life until 16 years old. What sets me apart is that I stop caring about what other people think. Whatever makes me feel good is what I’m going to do. So many people tried to stop my light because it was too bright. I learned to blind them and make the world shine.
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
I’ve took a few risk just by traveling by myself to cities and states I don’t know anyone from. Going to Los Angeles to the BET Awards, attended Rolling Loud in Orlando FL, going to NYC opening up for Scarlip to preform is very risk taking. A lot of times you just have to go for it, closed mouth don’t get fed.
