Conversations with Iyanna Sisco

Today we’d like to introduce you to Iyanna Sisco. Them and their team share their story with us below:

She struggled with bumpy skin, eczema, hyperpigmentation, and textured skin. She even struggled with her self-image and how her acne made her feel inside and out. Her peers and professionals suggested that she should start wearing makeup to help cover it up. She tried it, but it was never her thing to hide who she really was. She wanted to feel comfortable in her own skin and learn to embrace it before covering up.

She became insecure about herself at one point and it affected various parts of her life, but eventually learned to love who she was, and this too shall pass. She tried everything there was on the market to clear up her acne & permanently, but quickly learned that loving your skin and yourself is the biggest healer with time. Your skin is the biggest flex! Let alone, healthy glowing skin that you worked hard on over the years to maintain and learned to love. Her mom told her to try this 100% organic concoction to help with the troubled skin.

There was no way this concoction would work better than a doctor’s prescription, but guess what? After years of trying several doctor’s prescriptions this 100% concoction worked wonders and the results were shocking! To learn that all we need on this earth is already here and to learn that it shouldn’t cost hundreds of dollars to clear up and maintain beautiful skin is something everyone should be aware of. Now is the time to start embracing our imperfections and to let our skin breathe, and heal naturally. When you take the makeup off are you happy? iWannaFacials & Body is now an evolving black-owned skincare line that not only circles around maintaining healthy glowing skin but helping everyday people learn to love their natural beauty & adding self-care to their lives to feel good inside and out.

We too often buy skincare products that have ingredients we cannot read and have no idea of the side effects after so many uses. Our natural skincare offers skincare that gives anyone peace of mind with learning new things about yourself and your skin. Self-care is our top priority.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has not been smooth. I started my business in December of 2019. To own a business in such a competitive market can weigh on your mental health. I am the only one running this business thus far and taking small steps to achieve the bigger goal. Getting the right finances to jump-start my business became a challenge for me, but I am still learning as I grow.

Self-care is a prominent aspect of life in order to keep going. We’ve recently added self-care to the business to raise awareness for people that own a business like me but struggle to balance personal time and business time. There were times I wanted to ask myself “What is the point anymore?” I always refer back to why I started and how far I have come to keep going to help not myself, but the whole world. Something is missing from the human race, and I have the vision to bring back that missing piece to the human race. Skincare & Self care goes hand and hand and can take anyone far in life.

Thanks so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I will be attending Memphis Skin Academy in the spring of 2023 to learn more about the skin and further my career in the skincare industry. My skincare line is handcrafted carefully with plant-based ingredients that create magic for the skin. I am also a content creator and I create and design my own ads as well as videos for my business. I am currently looking into YouTube to expand my creative side in my art through my skincare line.

I am most proud of far I came with an idea that started from skin insecurity and what I have created for the people and myself in the future. What sets me apart from most people would be learning about the natural resources on this earth that are safe to use and putting them into a jar for the skin, and being able to create all my ideas solo.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
A quality that is important to my success would be, being present and being patient. Having a positive mindset also helps with days I feel like quitting. As a young CEO, it can be hard to be patient with some things, but if you’re trying it will always come to you. Just never give up. Winners never quit and Quitters never win.
