Hi Kasharri, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Why I Started Envious Gifts:
Envious Gifts was born from a place of love, healing, and heartbreak. It all began during one of the most difficult seasons of my life—when trauma struck close to home. A dear friend of mine lost her daughter, and I created the floral arrangements for her service. Not long after, another friend lost her son. For him, I created something truly one-of-a-kind: a Spider-Man-themed obituary, the very first of its kind, designed like a comic book, paired with matching themed flowers.
These moments were incredibly personal, and through them, I discovered a calling—using creativity, care, and customization to bring comfort and meaning to people experiencing life’s most emotional milestones. Envious Gifts isn’t just a gift or floral company; it’s a space where I pour my heart into every detail, whether it’s for celebration, remembrance, or healing.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Not at all. I’ve been navigating deep grief and personal loss while trying to build and run a business with little to no funding. It’s been a journey filled with sacrifice, resilience, and faith. Every arrangement, every gift, every order I fulfill comes from a place of purpose—even when the road has felt heavy.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m actually a full-time teacher by day, and the founder of Envious Gifts by heart. I created this business out of love, grief, and a deep desire to serve others in meaningful ways. Envious Gifts specializes in custom floral arrangements, themed sympathy tributes, handcrafted candles, and curated gifts that carry intention and healing.
What I’m most known for—and what I’m most proud of—is how personal each creation is. From a Spider-Man comic book-style obituary and matching themed floral arrangements for a grieving family, to healing candle sets meant to bring light into someone’s darkest days—every item has a story behind it.
What sets Envious Gifts apart is the heart behind the work. I’m not just selling gifts; I’m building a community, and helping people express emotions when words aren’t enough. While juggling teaching and entrepreneurship isn’t easy, it fuels my mission: to create a safe space where creativity, comfort, and compassion come together.
What makes you happy?
The moment a customer tells me, “This is exactly what I needed to say.” That’s everything. Whether it’s something as simple as a handwritten thank you card or something as major as a custom Rainbow Dash funeral arrangement for a child, those moments remind me why I do this.
I feel truly honored to help people express love, comfort, and remembrance in the most personal way possible. It’s not just about flowers or gifts—it’s about helping families find peace and beauty during their most emotional moments.
I’m especially proud of the work I’ve done in partnership with St. Jude and NJ Ford & Sons Funeral Home, helping to create meaningful tributes that families can cherish forever. Those collaborations and those quiet moments of “You understood what I couldn’t say”—that’s what fills my heart.
