Today we’d like to introduce you to Kendrick Demming.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Hello My Name Is Kendrick Demming I’m 27 years old and I’m from Memphis Tennessee and this is my story on how I became a Professional Male Model.
Back before I started modeling I’ve always been good at taken pictures I guess you can say I’m very much photogenic lol. I started modeling back in 2020 my mom use to model back when she was young before she had me I never would had thought that I will one day take the path as a model also. Modeling for me has been amazing experience I have done so much I have seen a lot also I have been modeling for five years now I have done shows for Nike, LA Fashion Week, and now New York Fashion Week.
I love being in this space where people can express who they are without judgement. I’ve always been a guy with style I love all type of styles from the West Coast LA vibes to the uptown Queens NY Style. Back in 2022 that’s when my modeling career really started to take off right before my eyes I took a mini vacation to Atlanta for my birthday and while I was down there I met a few models that was at the Lenox Mall they told me about this modeling agency they had there I went online and applied and submitted some of my pictures to be honest I didn’t know if they was going to hit me back up but I told myself one of my favorite quotes that I love “if you never take the risk you’ll never know the person you’ll become”. When I return back home to Memphis from my trip a day later I ended up getting a call from the agency in Atlanta they wanted me to fly back out there. It was crazy because I didn’t have any money because I spent a lot of my birthday vacation but I knew i couldn’t miss this opportunity I told my mom what happened and she was like “Ken you going back to Atlanta you not missing this lol” so fast forward I went back and I had to do a test shoot to see if they would like to work with me or not. Everything went perfectly the people was so nice and the vibes was amazing. When we got done shooting I got called to the lady office she proceeded to tell me that she loved all my photos and that I can go for runway modeling, print modeling, swimwear modeling, and many more. And as I were sitting there that’s when I began to realize that my dream have become my reality. To anyone that want to pursue modeling or anything that you want in life just get up and start you can literally do anything you put your mind to like literally anything. I just want to also thank everyone that supported me over the years with my modeling career my family, my friends, my photographers LZY productions , Crowned vision studios, Conrad Vizualz Rodwillphoto and Emmanuel Cashmere Quinn These people really had a impact in my modeling career and I just want to personally thank them from the bottom of my heart. One last thing before I go o just want to say Chase your dreams no matter what many people will doubt you but it’s not their path it’s yours keep your head up high and go after what you want and always Keep God first because without God none of this will be possible.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Modeling definitely been a challenge but what God have for you, is for you being an freelance model is kinda tough you have to find opportunities and you have to put yourself out there more then being a signed model, but in the end it’s all worth it because you have built your Net work from scratch and bonds that can’t be broken
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Well I’m more known for modeling, but I’m also A barber, content creator, stylist, and personal trainer. I have been A barber for about 4 years now and I been doing content like YouTube, vlogs, get ready with me and many other things since 2020 I went to school at the Mississippi Valley State University (MVSU) for physical therapy I love every moment of it.
What am I most proud of is that I never gave up on my journey I had a lot of challenges over the years while trying to find what I really wanted to do with my life but God blessed me he gave me the voice to speak and to build bonds with people that can trust me with their creativity and help bring it to life and also gave me the gift to help make someone feel better about themselves even if it just a haircut when people sit in my chair it’s not just a haircut it’s an experience it’s my art and that’s how I experience myself just like modeling I love fashion I love being around people who can create things that will blow your mind it’s my passion
Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memory I have so many, but definitely traveling to different places with me my family we use to go out of town a lot when I was a child so I kinda got to see how the world is different than just being in Memphis I know for a fact I travel to at least 30 states out of 50 and that open up my mind early because I know it’s a big world out there and I can’t wait to experience more from my eyes and my point of view.
