Today we’d like to introduce you to Larry Marshall, Jr..
Hi Larry, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I was born and raised in Memphis, TN. I graduated from East High School in 2009 and shortly after, attended The University of Tennessee at Martin where I received my Bachelor of Science in Public Administration in 2013. I worked my way up the ladder starting out as a package handler, customer service representative, and later a Deputy Court Clerk with Shelby County Government in 2015, I continued my career with Shelby County as a Corrections Deputy and shortly afterwards pursued my career in law enforcement with the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office currently. Afterwhile, I found my interested in photography which started out as a hobby and later took it seriously as a profession since I always had a thing for detail.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I’ve had some bumps along the way. My toughest battle that I had to fight and currently fighting is the passing of my three month of old son, Landon Prince Marshall, just last year on August 19, 2024. My wife and I enjoy the time we had with him. We miss him every day. When Landon passed it felt as though a part of me died with him and I lost all interest in the things I enjoyed indulging in. I am slowly getting back to what enjoy. Grief is real and has no time limit. Though you can never rid of it I do my best to manage if means talking to someone.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a photographer. I enjoy on location portrait photography. Everyone knows that I can step out into any environment and capture amazing images. What sets me apart from other photographer is my attention to detail and ability to connect with people.
