Today we’d like to introduce you to Margaret Mosley.
Hi Margaret, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’ve had a camera in my hand for as long as I can remember. I love capturing memories. Memories are beautiful gifts from God. Just think about it, evidence of that first step, that pride on graduation day, opening your first business, fishing with grandpa, cooking with mom, your wedding day or just braiding your best friend’s hair, these are all moments in time that can’t be measured. I can remember my dad saying “ here comes Margaret with that camera “ lol but whenever someone needs a picture of certain moments I’ll probably have it. That’s how it started and that went to, hey, what do you charge to do this or do that? And so it began and I am very grateful.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Was the road smooth or were there obstacles and challenges? That would be a yes and no. The road would be considered smooth because capturing memories is what I love to do, It’s like therapy, however the struggles are also real. Photography is not an inexpensive craft. Purchasing photography equipment is costly and there is always something new to learn. I’m yet learning and I get so excited every time I learn something new. I’d truly welcome a mentor. I learned the hard way that not all others in the craft are friendly or want to share their knowledge. I love allowing someone to shadow me. I’ll share with you what I’ve learned so that it can be easier for you. I remember buying so much equipment that I didn’t need just because I didn’t know. Knowledge is definitely powerful.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My name is Margaret and I’m a professional photographer. I specialize in capturing your memorable moments. Im still looking for my niche. It’s difficult because I love all areas of photography, so i’m ready for your wedding, maternity shots, headshots, family photos and more. I am known for my patience, great work, reasonable pricing and making my clients feel free to have a great time during our session. My desire to my best work with all clients big or small jobs set me a part from others. I want my work to proceed me.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Finding a mentor can be tricky but don’t stop the search. YouTube University will help but it’s not enough. Reach out to those whose work you admire, stop and talk to those that have a camera in hand and ask for tips. Just don’t give up.

- Event Photography: $275 per hour
- Wedding Photography: beginning plan $1200 includes engagement session
