Today we’d like to introduce you to McKenzie Dwyer.
Hi McKenzie, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
2KC Cookie Co. started with a simple idea: bring delicious, eye-catching cookies to our small community—at a price families could actually afford. We weren’t trying to start a movement. We just wanted to make something good, something memorable, and something that felt like home.
The name “2KC” comes from our first three children—Kenneth, King, and Charlotte. Two K’s and one C. Every batch we bake is a reminder of our roots: family first, faith always, and community at the center.
We paired those cookies with bold, smooth espresso from a veteran-owned roaster, and suddenly—2KC was born. What started small quickly became something more: a place where people gather, laugh, and connect. A place where small-town charm meets big-time flavor.
We proudly partner with other local makers and small businesses to keep quality high and our impact higher. And as a military family, we stay committed to giving back to the veteran community that shaped us—through support, collaboration, and opportunity.
At 2KC, we’re not just serving cookies and coffee. We’re building something bigger than ourselves—with every smile, every bite, and every story shared across the counter.
Built on faith. Fueled by community. Made with love.
This is 2KC.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Was it easy? Not even close.
When we opened our first storefront in Millington, we heard it all:
“Everyone fails there.”
“Millington isn’t a good place for business.”
“That building’s too hidden.”
But we believed in what 2KC could become. Once the community started to embrace us, encourage us, and show up, things began to shift. And just as quickly, the challenges rolled in—building issues, financial strain, and the overwhelming reality of turning a dream into a real-deal business.
Then came the growth—fast and chaotic.
McKenzie was a third-year med student, working hospital rotations full time.
Jack was full-time active duty military.
We had three kids (now four), were coaching soccer, juggling school events, and trying to stay present through it all.
We spent a lot of sleepless nights building 2KC—baking, cleaning, packaging, planning—every hour we could steal went into this business.
By the grace of God and a lot of late-night hustle, our second location came to life. It didn’t fall into our laps—we fought for it. But every open door along the way reminded us we weren’t doing this alone.
It wasn’t easy. But with grit, faith, family, and community, it’s been worth every step.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
We’re not just another cookie shop—we’re a small-town powerhouse built on faith, family, and flavor.
At 2KC, we’re known for giant, over-the-top cookies that taste even better than they look. Every flavor is handcrafted in small batches using real ingredients, bold combinations, and a whole lot of love. But it’s more than just cookies.
We’re a place where community comes first—where customers become friends, and local makers are part of the mission. We partner with small businesses, support veteran-owned vendors, and reinvest in the people around us.
We don’t cut corners. We make everything fresh, with quality that shows.
We don’t follow trends. We create what our people crave.
And we don’t just serve cookies—we serve connection.
That’s what makes 2KC different.
Big flavor. Small-town heart. Unshakable mission.
That’s what we’re known for.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Most folks know us for our giant, handcrafted cookies and bold coffee—but what many don’t realize is that we’re veteran owned and operated, still fully in the thick of it.
We’re not sitting behind desks—we’re still the ones mixing dough, pulling espresso shots, and training every staff member by hand. This isn’t a hands-off operation. It’s personal.
We built 2KC from the ground up with a mission rooted in faith, family, and community. From day one, we’ve partnered with local makers, supported veteran-owned vendors, and worked to pour back into the people who’ve poured into us.
Our cookies are big, our flavors are bold—but it’s the heart behind it all that makes us different.
Real ingredients. Real people. Real purpose.
