Conversations with Megan Hurdle

Today we’d like to introduce you to Megan Hurdle.

Hi Megan, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I have always been an artist. As a child I would spend my free time with my grandmother, Kathleen Moore or “Nanny” to me. She lived in a little bungalow in highpoint Terrace. Her studio was her home and she gave me free range to play with her materials. I spent a lot of time soaking up creative freedom in that house.

growing up with a grandmother and mom who encouraged my creativity was the seed. Fast forward 20 years and when my mom asked me to show my work in one of her art shows , it gave me the confidence for my passion to fuel a profession.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I would say not a smooth road and lots of detours and learning experiences. There was no blueprint to follow and I had to learn to trust myself.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a mixed media artist. I create paintings using various mediums and metallic leafs. I hope in generations to come , people can look at my work and distinguish , that is a Megan Hurdle painting.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
To believe in yourself. Your originality. Find YOUR way
