Today we’d like to introduce you to Natashia Tuggle.
Hi Natashia , we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My name is Chef Natashia Tuggle, and I am the owner and operator of Theknifespot901 LLC, a gourmet catering company based in Memphis. My passion for cooking began at a young age, inspired by family, culture, and the joy that food brings to people. What started as cooking for loved ones quickly grew into a desire to turn my talent into a career.
In 2009, I became a licensed caterer and officially began my journey in the food industry. Over the years, I’ve worked hard to sharpen my skills, build my brand, and develop a reputation for flavorful, high-quality food and professional service. Through dedication, consistency, and a deep love for what I do, I’ve grown Theknifespot901 into a trusted catering business serving private events, corporate functions, and special celebrations.
Today, I’m proud to be a licensed and insured chef and entrepreneur who continues to evolve, compete, and create unforgettable dining experiences. My story is one of passion, perseverance, and purpose — and I’m excited about what the future holds as I continue to serve my community through food.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely has not been a smooth road, but every challenge has helped shape who I am today. Like many entrepreneurs, I started with limited resources and had to learn a lot through trial and error. Building a catering business from the ground up meant long hours, balancing family responsibilities, managing finances, and sometimes doubting myself when things were slow or uncertain.
There were moments when bookings were inconsistent, equipment was limited, and I had to wear every hat — chef, manager, marketer, and customer service all at once. Competing in a crowded food scene and proving myself as a business owner, especially as a woman in the industry, came with its own challenges.
But through perseverance, faith, and a strong work ethic, I stayed focused. Each setback taught me something valuable about discipline, resilience, and believing in my vision. Those struggles didn’t stop me — they strengthened me and prepared me to run a business with confidence and purpose today.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

I take pride in creating food that not only tastes amazing, but also supports my clients’ wellness goals and busy lifestyles.
What I’m most proud of is building Theknifespot901 from a passion into a respected catering and meal prep business that has been serving the community since 2009. I’m also proud of my ability to adapt, compete, and continuously elevate my craft in a fast-paced and competitive industry.
What sets me apart is my hands-on approach and personal connection with every client. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all menus — I collaborate closely with my clients to bring their ideas to life, whether it’s a large-scale event or a weekly meal plan. My consistency, creativity, reliability, and genuine love for what I do are what truly separate me from others. Every dish I create carries my name, my reputation, and my commitment to excellence.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was naturally creative, observant, and very determined. I’ve always had a strong sense of independence and a quiet confidence, even as a child. I paid close attention to the people around me, especially in the kitchen, and I loved watching how food brought everyone together. Cooking became one of my earliest interests and a way for me to express myself.
I was curious and hands-on — I liked learning by doing, trying new things, and figuring things out on my own. I’ve always had a caring side, and I enjoyed making people happy, which is one of the reasons food became such a big part of my life. Sharing meals, helping family, and being part of moments that mattered really shaped who I am.
Personality-wise, I was driven, focused, and resilient. Even early on, I knew I wanted more for myself and my family, and I wasn’t afraid of hard work. That combination of creativity, discipline, and heart is still what guides me today — both in the kitchen and in business.
