Today we’d like to introduce you to Sherrie Williams-Smith.
Hi Sherrie, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I’m Sherrie Williams-Smith the Founder of Enchanted Toons.
During the pandemic in 2020, I took the time to focus on something positive with all the extra time being home with my newborn baby girl after thirteen years I thought this would most definitely help with future party planning as well.
At this time I came up with the idea of beginning my own cosplay business. This was something I really battled the big “F” word with, The Fear of Failure & The Fear of Success. Yes, FEAR was the big “F” word.
Let’s look at the big picture, nobody starts a new business with failure in mind.
So fast forward to April “22” I decided to push the gas and let things roll with Enchanted Toons. Our first character appearance was the Easter Bunny and it was a Success. As soon as I launched my business I was receiving calls for bookings back to back, this most definitely increased my Faith.
I love kids!!!
When I decided to explore this business I had the children in my heart. As we all can witness our kids love television & it’s so much joy to see them sing & dance with their favorite cartoon characters it also gives us parents time to unleash/unwind from a long day’s work, while the little ones are being entertained.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I can honestly say by God’s GRACE this has been very interesting thus far. One of my biggest struggles was just the courage to get started.
If it wasn’t for the love & support of my husband Albert, my son Mor’Kiryan, and my two daughters Ya’Minzia & Ay’vah-Grace none of this would be possible. They work hard on and behind the scenes.
When beginning my new adventure I would say Networking was very important in which I’m not very talkative so that was a challenge for me, but with great customer service my business pretty much spoke for itself & my clientele has been growing ever since. Meeting & servicing numerous families have helped me along the way to overcome my stage fright.
Some lessons I’ve learned during this journey so far is to expect the most support from strangers, be willing to step outside of your comfort zone, and always promote your business, because even if you don’t get a share or like, your business is still being viewed.

Enchanted Toons is a cosplay business that specializes in kids’ birthday parties, church functions, daycares, school events & home visits. We bring your child(ren) inspired cartoon characters to any event/occasion.
We keep the kids entertained with theme songs, TikTok dances, bike rides, temporary theme tattoos, photos, and much more.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
As a kid growing up I was very adventurous. I loved to watch cartoons but Sesame Street was my All time favorite as a kid. I loved trends & always kept up with the latest electronics & fashions. My childhood was very exciting, my mother made sure that I was happy.
I visited Disney World & was able to actually be a kid. If you was to ask my mother this question she would say that I was very curious & stayed busy. I was most definitely a leader & not a follower. It was mandatory to make academics a priority. I got my first job at the age of 14 which also helped me with managing & my responsibilities for the adult world. I was the youngest in the household so that meant I got all the attention from my big sister who treated me like her baby doll.
