Conversations with Yvonne Renee

Today we’d like to introduce you to Yvonne Renee

Hi Yvonne , so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I grew up in Colorado with some brief time in New Mexico, Arizona, a year in Hawaii and Florida. My husband grew up in Bartlett, TN and we both skateboard so when he left Tennessee to go to Colorado, we met skateboarding and have been together ever since. That was 9 years ago. I attended the Aveda Institute in 1997 and have been a hair Stylist since then. I was drawn to the Ayurvedic principles of the original founder and using organic, botanical products and thinking of the next 7 generations in that philosophy. I have lived in Germantown for 1 year and 4 months now and I honestly feel like I’m home. I’m in love with Memphis.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been a fun ride, but definitely a bumpy road! I’ve learned a lot along the way, but it was at one of the lowest points in my life…a dark night of the soul, negrado as some call it. That’s when I met my husband, Michael and he was my angel to help me pick up the pieces, realize I was somewhat my own worst enemy, and not only come back to life, but to thrive and now start my own small business and incorporate new services and healing techniques to help others. I had gotten very bad chronic pain from multiple car accidents and I was hit by a car walking across the street. My line of work, with the repetitive motion and a skateboarding accident (where I knocked myself out) was a recipe for disaster.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a hair stylist, but I use intentions and energy in every service. I believe that energy surrounds us in the aethr always and in our own personal torroidal fields so we can heal each other, just as a Master chef puts all intentions into creating an amazing entrée or a wine maker manicures particular grapes, and oversees the whole process to create an amazing bottle of wine, I do the same with my services. I use the cleanest, organic, botanical products I can find. I use as many local Tennessee and then USA made and sourced products as possible as well. I also am introducing sound therapy using tuning forks with my services.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
I believe we can and should all coexist peacefully and there is abundance for everyone. Just talking to each other and being present really can open up doors and referrals. Try to be community minded and refer to each other, not compete with each other. I noticed Memphis Voyager also has this same perspective and sees that it is us that is creating this whole realm and doing all the work. Not celebrities and not corporations, it’s all us. We need to be united, not divided.
