Today we’d like to introduce you to Adonis Hayes.
Hi Adonis, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
There are two significant moments that played a part in my photography journey. My first introduction to photography was watching my uncle always have his camera with him. My uncle, Dr. Robert Smith, made it a habit to always have his camera and capture photos at family gatherings.
As a kid, I always wondered why he kept his camera with him. He was a locally known general surgeon, yet he had a love for photography. The second significant moment was the encouragement from two of my closest friends Terrence Alexander and Zachary Bobo. These gentlemen were major advocates for me to launch a career in photography. Nowadays, we are motivating one another, brainstorming together, and collaborating as a group on important events.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
This journey has been far from smooth. Some challenge I have experienced was learning to adapt and overcome. I can count on one hand how many photography and videography sessions went 100% as planned.
As a photographer, you have to go with the flow in situations while still expressing confidence in your clients. Early on, I didn’t understand the importance of this principle to being a photographer. Now, it’s a principle I strive to flourish in.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a photographer and videographer. My style is versatile and can consist of portraits, products, newborns, food, real estate, events, and many more.
As for my specialty, I would lean towards weddings and events. Weddings and events produce beautiful candid photos, and the clients are able to remember these precious moments captured in time. My goals are always to build relationships with my clients, serve them to the best abilities, and ultimately produce quality content that will last for generations.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I honestly enjoy the people associated with this city. The people in Memphis are like no other. Whether it’s from our hospitality or the way we carry ourselves; Memphians are genuinely 1 of a kind!
On the contrary, I would like to see an improvement in economic growth for entrepreneurs. We have some very skilled, talented, and gifted people in this community. If we promote and support the entrepreneurs, we will see a rise in the city’s economy.
