Daily Inspiration: Meet Brandon Ahmad

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandon Ahmad.

Hi Brandon, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Hey! I’m Brandon Ahmad; a singer, songwriter, and entrepreneur. I bring a fresh, and new light to the world of not only music, but health and lifestyle change – needless to say – my talents are limitless when it comes to the careful crafting of my artistry.

Growing up as the youngest of six children living in Detroit, Michigan definitely wasn’t the lap of luxury. Even though my mother worked long, hard hours to give her family the bare necessities – which I’m truly appreciative and loves her for – living amongst so many in one household made me appear to be merely a link in the chain of people that surrounded me.

Soon, I left the shadow of my older siblings to attend the historically-black college, Fisk University, located in Nashville, TN.  My track and field scholarship was my way out of a not-so-ideal childhood, but writing and creating was what helped me cope through it all.

“My music fills the soul with a healthy dosage of bass, while soothing the heart with beautiful harmonies and melodic cadences.”

Ahmad has continued to reside in the “Music City” (Nashville, TN). Whether it’s performing music and writing songs, creating panels for health care, or giving back to the community… it’s more than a dream for me!, I create so that the people who experience my talent or come to an event are extended an outlet to express their feelings unapologetically! I see the humanity in people and want them to feel seen through my works!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Let’s be honest! The road to any successful life is full of mistakes, obstacles, and pitfalls! In fact, I learned that most of these obstacles we end up putting in the road ourselves! I have been singing and writing songs for over 20 years! I have been told no, completely ignored, and a few times laughed and booed off of stages.

But what I have discovered is that if you continue to move forward, you learn from your mistakes, your legs get strong enough to jump the pitfalls! And you become smart enough to move around or remove the obstacles in your way!

Almost all of success is 100% mental. In the entertainment industry today you have to believe that your gift or talent should be seen by as many people as possible! Then put the work in on the marketing side to get your art in front of as many like-minded individuals as possible!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a singer, Songwriter, and entrepreneur! I have been writing and performing songs for over 20 years! Currently we are touring with our group, The Utopia Band! An amazing artist, Malik Jvon and myself, have a collaboration album dropping this summer titled, “VICE$”! This album talks about all the vices and things we hold onto that ultimately stop us from achieving our dreams!

Finally, my company, The love Yourself Network, does mostly digital content and host live shows, health panels, and physical fitness events like our LYS Community Walk /Run this summer!

I’m definitely a multi faceted person, but I do believe that my specialty is songwriting! As a creative, I have so many interest in the entertainment field, but nothing brings me joy like fitting the perfect words to the perfect beat! Whether it’s writing for myself, or writing for others; Songwriting is top tier!

What I’m most proud of is what sets me apart! I believe that what sets me apart is my want and hunger to deliver honest and genuine songs. Regardless of the song topic, I like to reach into those human experiences and emotions that are below the surface and bring them to light!

How do you think about luck?
I used to think that people got “ lucky breaks”, but as I have matured, I understand that the difference isn’t luck, it is people adjusting to their situation in real time. No one’s first plan goes well.

I believe that your ability to navigate your way through a plan when it’s not going the way you envisioned ultimately shapes your outcome.
