Today we’d like to introduce you to Jamesha Coleman
Hi Jamesha, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always been artistic and creative, but my journey truly started when I was at MTSU. I initially pursued animation but quickly realized my passion was in graphic design. I loved combining visuals, branding, and aesthetics—especially everything inspired by the 2000s era, which has always been a major influence on me.
I started freelancing in graphic design, creating logos, websites, and branding materials, and over time, my work gained traction. My designs, especially on Pinterest, took off, reaching over 1.2 million all-time views.
At the same time, I launched HNO MANOR, my own e-commerce fashion brand, which I’ve been building for the past five years. My goal has always been to bring back the essence of the 2000s—McBling, Y2K, punk aesthetics—and make them accessible today. Over the years, I’ve grown my brand, refining designs and perfecting my tracksuits, which feature unique details like heart, lip, and bow pockets. Recently, HNO MANOR has been gaining major traction, hitting 1.9 million views in just 90 days, and being worn by artists like Sexyy Red, Rubi Rose, and Cuban Doll.
Through my creativity and consistency, I’ve been able to turn my passion into a career—designing everything for my brand, collaborating with my photographer in LA, and continuing to grow both my fashion line and my freelance design work. And this is just the beginning!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has definitely not been an easy road. Running a business is already challenging, but doing it while I was in college made it even harder. Balancing school, HNO MANOR, and my freelance graphic design work was overwhelming, but I kept pushing because I knew this was my passion.
Even now, it’s still a struggle. On top of running my fashion brand and freelance business, I work a 9-5 where I do photography, graphic design, IT tech, and communications – so I’m constantly juggling multiple roles. Over the last year and a half, balancing everything has been exhausting, and there have been moments of burnout and self-doubt.
But through it all, I’ve learned resilience, discipline, and the importance of believing in my vision. Seeing my hard work pay off, whether through my brand gaining recognition, my clients loving my designs, or people wearing my clothes makes it all worth it. It’s been a tough journey, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I do a little bit of everything when it comes to creativity! I specialize in graphic design, branding, and fashion design, and I’m known for my bold, nostalgic Y2K-inspired aesthetic. Whether it’s through my freelance graphic design work, where I create logos, websites, and branding materials, or my fashion brand, HNO MANOR, everything I do is rooted in the 2000s era – McBling, Y2K, punk, and indie sleaze.
What I’m most proud of is how far HNO MANOR has come. Over the past five years, I’ve grown my brand from an idea into something that has gained 47K followers, millions of views, and been worn by artists like Sexyy Red, Rubi Rose, and Cuban Doll. I’ve also made inclusivity a priority, offering sizes XXS-5XL at no extra cost so that everyone can feel confident and release their inner diva.
What sets me apart is my attention to detail and authenticity. Everything I design—whether it’s a logo for a client or a new tracksuit for my brand—stays true to my vision. I don’t just follow trends; I bring back an era, blending nostalgia with modern style in a way that resonates with people. My work speaks for itself, and I love that I’ve built a brand and career that represents me 100%.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
My biggest advice for anyone just starting out is just go for it and stay consistent. It’s easy to overthink and wait for the “perfect” time, but the truth is, you learn as you go. When I started HNO MANOR and my freelance business, I didn’t have everything figured out—I just kept creating, kept learning, and kept pushing forward.
Something I wish I knew earlier is that growth takes time. When you’re building something from the ground up, whether it’s a business, a brand, or a skill, it won’t blow up overnight. There will be slow periods, moments of doubt, and times when you feel like giving up. But if you stay consistent, adaptable, and passionate, the progress will come.
Also, invest in yourself—whether that’s through education, tools, or networking. I spent countless nights reading about business and fashion, refining my skills, and figuring out what made my brand unique. Looking back, all of that effort paid off.
Lastly, don’t compare your journey to anyone else’s. Social media makes it seem like success happens instantly, but behind every brand or creative career, there’s years of work. Focus on your own path, stay true to your vision, and trust that your hard work will pay off.
