Today we’d like to introduce you to Jason Gaines.
Jason, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I was raised in Decatur, Mississippi, which is a small town in the east-central area of the state. I’ve been exposed to music and the arts, through my parents, church, and school activities, since a very young age. I really can’t remember a time when music wasn’t playing in our house, growing up. My parents would even watch music programs on television, go to concerts, and had a wide variety of music to choose from in the home, due to their ever-growing music collection.
I always enjoyed being a part of it. I’m positive that this is what began my interest in music and other arts, which would become a huge part of my life, going forward. I joined the military after high school, went to college, and stayed involved with music when I could. I later also began exploring other opportunities in the arts, to get involved in.
This is when I discovered film. Once I began getting involved, I began researching and learning everything that I possibly could. I met different people who were working in the film industry and just tried to take it all in. I loved everything about it. Going forward, I have been blessed to be a part of many great film projects, am a member of the Screen Actor’s Guild (SAG-AFTRA), and just continue to love being a part of it all when I can.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I don’t believe that anything worth anything comes easy. A lot of dedication is involved when trying to accomplish a goal, and you have to expect setbacks, to not let them become personal.
I’ve certainly experienced struggles along the way, just like anyone else, but have also been very blessed as well. I just enjoy the process, focus on the accomplishments, and keep looking forward.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am blessed to be a part of the film industry. I am an actor and member of the Screen Actor’s Guild. (SAG-AFTRA) I have worked on a variety of film projects. (Television, Feature Film, Commercial, Print, and Voiceover) I’m just so happy to be a part of the process. Film is a unique field to be a part of and am always grateful when I’m a part of a production.
I’m proud to be a part of working with a great group of individuals, whenever I can be on set. There are so many moving parts in a film production and I always love watching the process come together. It’s amazing to see how things happen from beginning to end and to be a part of something that I find to be quite special. I’m very grateful. I think what sets me apart is my Southern accent. There is no denying it. Ha.

I’m always thankful for support, prayers, and well wishes, and am truly blessed to have many great people in my life. I’m always happy to collaborate on project needs, support and encourage others in their endeavors, etc.
