Today we’d like to introduce you to Lamar Washington.
Hi Lamar, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started with a vision to create something bigger than myself. What began as a passion for creativity and design grew into Nomad Ramal, a luxury streetwear brand inspired by ambition, travel, and purpose. Along the way, I’ve continued to build my skills through branding, marketing, and entrepreneurship while balancing a full-time career. Today, I’m focused on creating meaningful products, expanding my brand, and inspiring others to chase where they’re going and not just where they’ve been.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Like many entrepreneurs, I’ve faced financial challenges, self-doubt, and the difficulty of building a brand while working a full-time job. There were moments when progress felt slow, but every obstacle taught me resilience, creativity, and the importance of staying committed to my vision. Those experiences have made both me and my business stronger.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in building brands through creative design, storytelling, and marketing. My primary focus is Nomad Ramal, a luxury streetwear brand that blends fashion with travel, ambition, and culture. I’m most proud of creating a brand with a clear identity and purpose from the ground up while continuing to expand into new creative projects. What sets me apart is my ability to turn ideas into meaningful experiences and create products that inspire people to keep moving forward and dream bigger.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
Start before you feel ready. Don’t wait for everything to be perfect because you’ll learn more by taking action than by overthinking. Stay consistent, be patient, and don’t compare your journey to anyone else’s. I also wish I had known that building a successful brand takes time—every setback is part of the process, and consistency is what separates those who make it from those who quit.
