Today we’d like to introduce you to La’Taurus Harrison.
Hi La’Taurus, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I’ve always been a talker. I used to do a video blog that started around 2007 with my twin, Tavarus called Bored and Runnin’ My Trap. In about 2015 my friend and business partner, Tyron suggested that I do a podcast. I did just that and the first one I did was called The Show 317. I did that for about a year and then decided to change the name to The Conceited Knowbody or Tckpodcast for short.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road hasn’t been smooth, but I’ve enjoyed it. The toughest part is trying to stand out while keeping the integrity of your show in a vastly populated genre of talk while also staying consistent in putting out fresh content. Marketing is also challenging.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a podcaster. I am known for my straight-to-the-point approach and my sharp humor and wit. I’m most proud of my ability to think outside the box and to not too often be swayed by emotions or public option opinions when I’m asserting my own.
What separates me from others is my extreme lack of desire to fit in just for the sake of fitting in. I like the adulation from people but I always intend to get it for being who I am and not some social media caricature of myself. One of my favorite thing to say is that I’m the same online as I am offline.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
Our city. I like the big but small city feel and the close proximity of everything. What I like least is the posturing that most creative people show. Everyone has this “I’ve made it” attitude when in fact we’re all still trying to win. It would be easier to win and grow together.
