Hi Melo, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Hi! I go by Melo. I am a 27yr old Memphis native. I am a multi-talented, multi-skilled, multi-passionate being. I am a lover of fashion, a sensual movement artist, yoga instructor, healer practitioner, diviner, Black Panther, environmental & social justice activist, mentor, entrepreneur, jewelry maker & I have a host of other interest and gifts that have their own season to be embraced and displayed to the world.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I have overcome too much to even elaborate on. I will say that the biggest obstacle(s) I’ve overcame, is surviving an extremely toxic environment. Years of abuse, physical & verbal, mental manipulation, narcissistic behavior & humbling tactics, all done to keep me down, but I prevailed and I still am. I have died, both in spirit and flesh on more than one occasion, but the fact that I am still here today, is a sure testament that my mission on Earth is not yet complete.

How do you think about happiness?
I find myself looking for new means of happiness everyday. Sometimes my happiness may look like, talking to no one all day, or sitting outside underneath the Sun, watching the butterflies & dragonflies surround me. Some days it looks like smoking ganja and dancing until I’m exhausted. While others look like the relieve of being held by arms that feel safe.
