Hi Riley, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
My story started back in 2011 when I first started consistently exploring and metal detecting places in the Memphis area.
Today, after nearly 10 years of making discoveries, I travel the country doing what I love and take my social media followers along with me to share in the adventure!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road, with exploring/metal detecting comes many challenges. In order you explore a location, I must get permission to do so from the current property owner, which can be a real challenge, especially if it is owned by a large company. Another challenge is finding new and undiscovered places to explore and search, which can take weeks to do. But I don’t give up easily, I made sure my followers always have an adventure waiting around the corner!
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in working with archeological firms and preservation associations to rescue historical artifacts from urban development. My efforts have helped locate and preserve several historical sites around the country. Because many of my discoveries are very exciting, I have amassed a large following on TikTok, and I love bringing them along with me on my adventures to share in the excitement! I am most proud of my achievements in saving artifacts that would have otherwise been destroyed by development. The artifacts help paint a picture of what America’s past looked like. I feel this type of exploring sets me apart from most of the explorers around the country!
What was your favorite childhood memory?
One of my favorite childhood memories was actually what lit the fire in me for exploring, and that was in 2010 when my dad first took me to explore a 100-year-old abandoned house, where we made lots of unique and interesting discoveries!
