Today we’d like to introduce you to ROLLA.
Hi ROLLA, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
I am a female singer-songwriter, I started doing music (started singing) when I was two singing alongside my mother as she played her guitar singing gospel songs. From there, my brother started learning how to produce beats to help me further with music and learning how to write my own songs (my brother taught me how to structure a song the correct way… lol).
It’s been a struggling adventure since deciding to pursue my music career indefinitely. I’ve worked with various different producers, been in all types of different studios I’ve traveled countless times & performed in so many beautiful events/festivals/music showcases/venues, etc. As well as the most opportunities to perform in front of no audience.
Alongside pursuing my music I’ve gained many ups not so much of breaking air-waves but small accomplishments that mean so much to the deepest of my soul that they have made me feel like I’ve won a grammy. I’ve been featured in newspapers, magazines, playlists, I have various collaborations, and just recently my beautiful song “WORTH” surpassed ten thousand streams on Tunecore.
I was stated Tunecore Certified, I haven’t put an extreme dent into things I am working towards (Yet) but again these are small steps to what is coming.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s been a 50/50 road with pursuing my music career. I say this because of personal situations that have taken place and it’s been much of out of my control although it leaves me feeling am I ever going to (if that makes sense) things have a way of happening just when you’re about to reach the top of it feels like you’re about to reach the top or I’ve received awesome news and then at the same time receiving bad news.
This has been the case for me for example I was to open up for this popular singer at the time by the name of MARIO, excited wasn’t the word in how I felt about the opportunity and being able to share the same stage with this amazing artist, again the feeling was unexplainable but I definitely was on cloud 200+… lol.
With all the excitement and sharing the spectacular news with my family and so-called friends there happen to be some back and forth discrepancies between the management on both parties and due to that MARIO declined to perform at the event, course I was more than crushed, hurt, I was all over the board with emotions but never have I ever faltered I’ve kept going till this day.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a female singer-songwriter. I’ve been singing now for a very long time I find myself humming in my sleep… lol. What I am blessed to do is sing and write my own songs (if that is what you call specializing in)… lol. I do what I was BLESSED to do I want to share my gifts with everyone from around the world I believe my talent gift was given to me for that purpose to share my personal dealings with others through songs and music that may and can relate to.
Right now, I wouldn’t say I’m known for what I do because I’m working towards building myself a fan/supporter foundation I am known to those that do know, and to those I am an entrepreneur, I am a great singer, (or as my brother puts it I can sing… lol) I am a writer, I am a co-producer, I am a co-editor, and I am a video creator/influencer.
What I am proud of is for all the things that have taken place in my LIFE till NOW I have NOT let it become an excuse in pursuing my music career I still continue to put my greatest foot forward to accomplish what I am determined to accomplish with my music no one said it was going to be easy and LIFE, in general, isn’t so with that said I must be strong somewhere and believe to the fullest because I have NOT quit on myself and my dreams.
What sets me apart from other artists is I am not trying to do what all other artists are doing I have always been told I look like a rapper, I look like a man, I am not the typical woman singer how some folks think a woman singer should look and I feel like that is definitely my advantage & my most favorite is I don’t sound like anyone out I am my own lane!
What are your plans for the future?
My future plans are to continue working and working harder to reach and touch the point I’ve been visioning.
I am looking forward to my music growing and I gain a huge following/fan/supporter foundation many great opportunities, changes for myself and my family, and being able to help other artists like myself that are different from the typical norm.

this was an awesome read I like the fact Rolla isn’t trying to be anyone else but herself I like the fact I can tell she is very humble through this interview I hope and wish nothing but the best for her and her music.
