Today we’d like to introduce you to Shanequa Murrell.
Hi Shanequa, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
It all started with me deciding to go get my first permanent bracelet. A month later I went back for a second one, and at that moment I decided this is something I would love to do. After a few months of training and research I launched my business. Two weeks after my first event my full-time employer of 6 years shut down. That’s when I decided to go all in and bet on myself.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Yes, it has been rough navigating as a new business owner. There’s so much involved to keep the business going from finances to marketing and building consistency with customers.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a permanent jewelry artist. I take unfinished chains and bond it together creating beautiful customized pieces for customers.
What sets me apart from others my personality exudes in my studio. I invite customers into a mood uplifting space filled with color and comfort for the best permanent jewelry experience.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I can see permanent jewelry expanding more and continuous being added into spaces within the beauty and retail industry.
I am just getting started but I am exploring many different ideas to scale my business.
