Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Breaking into an industry that is usually heavily dominated by women. Educating clients on the cost of producing weddings/events
Sustaining the business during the pandemic
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Valerie Peavy has been my mentor for almost 15+ years. Upon graduating from college in 2003, she afforded me the opportunity to work for her company at that time, Computer Support Services Corporation, as a systems engineer. She has instilled in me the work ethic and values that have been very meaningful to me as an entrepreneur.
Even though I met her and she took me under her wings as an IT expert, that same support still exists today as a designer. I am so grateful to have someone I can call and offer sound advice that will propel me to next-level opportunities.
