Daily Inspiration: Meet Victor Vasquez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Victor Vasquez.

Hi Victor, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
Well, I got into music production in my last year of high school. I’ve always loved hip-hop/rap and decided I’d give it a try by making the sounds that people rap on. At that time my mouth was also wired shut so I needed a way to express myself since I couldn’t talk that much. Making beats has been very therapeutic ever since, but I’ve just now got to the point in these 2 years and a half that I’m making some money off of it and getting little recognition.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Honestly, it’s been a lot of challenges in life like I said before I’ve had my mouth wired shut before. I used to get in trouble a lot as a youth in school for no reason (though in the end, I can only blame myself for the image I made myself out to be I guess).

My parents split up my freshman year which made life very different for me and my younger brother. Though if we’re just talking about the challenges in music then yes that too. I can dig much deeper it just depends if we’re talking about challenges in life or the musical journey I’m on.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a music producer/beatmaker. I want to eventually become a sound engineer. One day hopefully open up my own studio. I’m also working on a clothing brand that’ll be coming out soon.

Once I get a big enough following I want to make tutorials on how to make beats to help others chase their own desires in this music world. What sets me apart I believe is I’m one of the few Mexicans in Memphis that produce, so it’s always a different way I get looked at by other people.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Being humble, because no matter how big the talent is or small I treat everybody the same. It doesn’t matter to me if you are just starting out or if you’ve been doing this for yours as long as you are passionate about the craft I’ll work with you.

Pricing:

  • 3 beats $45
  • 6 beats $75
  • 9 beats $135
