Daily Inspiration: Meet Xo Tierny

Today we’d like to introduce you to Xo Tierny.

Hi Xo, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My name is Tierny, but the internet and my supporters know me as XoTierny. I was born on August 15, 2003, in Memphis, Tennessee, and my love for gaming started at a very young age.

My father owned several retro gaming systems growing up, and instead of letting them collect dust, he passed that love of gaming down to me and my two brothers. We started with the Sega Genesis, then the GameCube, the Wii, and as newer consoles were released, my parents always found a way to bring them into our home. Gaming became something that brought our family together.

As a little girl, I loved watching my brothers and older cousins compete against each other. I always wanted to jump in, but like a lot of boys back then, they would tell me, “Girls don’t know how to play games,” or that I should be playing with dolls instead. (Laughs.) But I was stubborn. I constantly begged my older brother to let me play NBA 2K and whatever else they were playing. Eventually, they gave in. I definitely wasn’t the best at first, but I kept practicing, and before long, gaming became one of my biggest passions.

Some of my favorite memories are playing Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort with my family, spending hours on Halo, The Warriors, Saints Row, Dance Central, Kinect Sports, and so many other games. Looking back, we always seemed to have either the newest console or the classics, so it’s no surprise that gaming became such a huge part of my life.

The moment that truly changed everything came one Christmas when I received my very first console that was completely mine—a PlayStation 4 that came bundled with Uncharted. From there, I started building my own gaming library with titles like Minecraft, ARK: Survival Evolved, Dead by Daylight, Grand Theft Auto V, and many others. Those games introduced me to incredible online friendships and gaming communities, and because we had so much fun together, I decided to give streaming a try.

Over the years, I streamed on several different channels, but I kept restarting because I never felt like I had found my true direction.

Then, in late 2019, I found myself in one of the lowest seasons of my life. I was struggling with depression and felt completely lost. During that time, I watched a sermon by Michael Todd called Release, and it gave me hope. Shortly afterward, I felt that God gave me the vision to start over—not just with a new channel, but with a new purpose and a different approach to creating content.

That’s how XoTierny was born.

The very first series on my channel was Life Is Strange. From there, I committed myself to staying consistent while creating a variety of gaming content. As my community grew, I introduced Motivational Mondays, where I encouraged my audience through real conversations about life and faith. I also created a horror reaction series called Friday Night Frights (FNF), inspired by CoryxKenshin’s legendary Spooky Scary Sunday series.

One of the biggest turning points in my career came when a fellow creator and friend, @TheRedman1111, recommended I react to The Three Little Pigs by Foxymation. That single reaction video unexpectedly took off and brought thousands of new viewers to my channel. Because of that momentum, I was finally accepted into the YouTube Partner Program.

That moment meant everything to me. I cried because it was something I had prayed for and worked toward for years. It reminded me that sometimes God answers prayers in ways you never expect.

Since then, I’ve continued creating gaming videos, horror reactions, and livestreams while growing an amazing community. Today, my channel has grown to over 3,500 subscribers, the largest audience I’ve built in my YouTube journey so far, and I’m incredibly grateful for every single person who’s supported me.

That growth has also opened doors to creator programs and opportunities I once only dreamed about, including being selected for Dream Con 2026, one of the biggest milestones of my career so far.

I’m still just getting started. My goal has never been to simply play video games—it’s to build a community where people can laugh, be encouraged, and feel like they belong. With God’s grace, I pray that I’ll continue reaching new milestones, inspiring others to chase their dreams, and showing that consistency, faith, and perseverance really do pay off.

This is only the beginning.

Glee World will be known.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
This journey definitely hasn’t been smooth, and honestly, it still isn’t. I’ve faced plenty of challenges along the way, but my biggest obstacle has always been… myself.

I struggle with procrastination, and staying consistent has been one of the hardest battles I’ve had to overcome. (Laughs.) In fact, as I’m answering these questions today—June 26, 2026—I haven’t uploaded to YouTube in four months. I could come up with a list of excuses, but the truth is, I don’t have one. Sometimes I’m simply the one standing in my own way.

At the same time, I’ve learned not to be overly critical of myself. I’m a one-person team. I handle everything behind my content—from recording and editing to designing thumbnails, posting videos, managing my community, and thinking of new ideas. Wearing every hat can become overwhelming, and there have definitely been moments where I’ve stumbled mentally or struggled with my work ethic.

Because of that, one of my biggest ongoing challenges is learning how to hold myself accountable while also giving myself grace. There’s a balance between pushing yourself to grow and understanding that you’re human. I’m still figuring that balance out every day.

What keeps me going is remembering why I started in the first place. Every milestone I’ve reached has come because I chose to keep going, even after setbacks. I’ve learned that success isn’t about being perfect or never falling off track—it’s about getting back up, recommitting to your purpose, and trusting God through every season.

I’m still a work in progress, but I’m proud that I haven’t quit. I truly believe the best chapters of my journey are still ahead of me.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a gaming and entertainment content creator, known as XoTierny on YouTube. My channel is centered around creating a space where people can escape, laugh, and feel encouraged through gaming, horror reactions, livestreams, and faith-based conversations. I play a variety of games, react to analog horror and other horror content through my Friday Night Frights (FNF) series, and occasionally share motivational videos that remind people they’re never alone in whatever they’re facing.

What truly sets me apart isn’t just the content I create—it’s my faith in God and the community we’re building, GLEE WRLD. I’ve always wanted my platform to be more than entertainment. I want it to be a place where people feel welcomed, supported, and inspired. My faith influences the way I lead my community, the way I treat others, and the purpose behind everything I create.

I’m most proud of how far I’ve come as a creator. Growing my channel to over 3,500 subscribers, becoming a member of the YouTube Partner Program, being selected for the Dream Con 2026 Creator Program, and even receiving exclusive merchandise from YouTube are milestones I’ll never take for granted. Every achievement is a reminder of God’s faithfulness and the incredible support from GLEE WRLD. I truly believe this is only the beginning, and I’m excited to continue growing while bringing as many people as possible along for the journey.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
What I love most about Memphis is the culture. Shout out to the 901—born and raised; Imma East Side Baby 〽️

Like the popular saying in the song by Marcus.901, Memphis N*a Everywhere I Go; and that’s stamped. No matter where you go, people recognize Memphis. They love our accent, our energy, our music, our dances, and the way we carry ourselves. We know how to have a good time. Around here we check, dance, eat some of the best wings and barbecue you’ll ever have, and we’ve got plenty of hidden gems that deserve more recognition.

If there’s one thing I like least, it’s simply that I’ve been here my whole life. I love Memphis, and it’ll always be home, but I’m ready for a new chapter. I want to experience new places while still carrying my city’s culture with me because wherever we go, Memphis goes too.

I’m incredibly proud of where I’m from. Too often, people reduce Memphis to headlines about crime and violence, but that’s not the full story. This city is full of talented artists, entrepreneurs, creators, dreamers, and people who know how to persevere. Memphis builds resilient people. It teaches you how to hustle, adapt, and keep pushing no matter what life throws at you.

No matter where life takes me, I’ll always represent the 901. Memphis made me who I am, and I’ll carry that with pride everywhere I go. 💯
