Daily Inspiration: Meet Zoë Herrera

Today we’d like to introduce you to Zoë Herrera

Hi Zoë, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Hello my lovely people my name is Zoë I was born and raised in Memphis Tennessee.
From a young age Ive always been captivated by Music and performance.
Growing up in Memphis I was always surrounded by Blues, R&B, and Soul, so it was inevitable that I started writing music of my own .I started off singing in school but I always felt this urge that I wanted to do more than just singing at school. As years went on I performed at local open mics and venues slowly building a following of my own . That’s when my big break happened I was introduced to Heal The Hood Foundation and starred as the leading role in one of their films called “Lil Red” after successfully filming the production, I started touring throughout MSCS (Memphis City schools) performing my Hit single “Insomnia” . Since then I’ve been working on my upcoming album called “Rendition” . Today I can say I’m proud of how far I’ve come , I’m here to represent Memphis R&B and for anyone who’s ever had a dream . This is just the beginning of Zoë and my journey doesn’t stop here !!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My journey hasn’t been easy but it hasn’t always been difficult either – there’s been a lot of hard work , late nights and sacrifices when it comes to being a performer and every step has been worth it! I didn’t stop because someone said I wasn’t ready I kept going because I needed that motivation to be the best and the best always . So I kept grinding , I kept pushing, I kept making music that resonated with my people – Always staying true to myself and my style.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Hey my beautiful people my name is Zoë and I’m thrilled to give you an inside peak of what I do as a R&B Singer.
As a singer/writer I always wanted my lyrics to be heartfelt and meaningful but also unique . I always wanted to be different, growing up in Memphis I’ve rarely seen any R&B artists gain worldwide recognition except for maybe K.Michelle. I wanted to create a sound that was timeless a song that you can’t stop thinking about. I was on a mission to create a song that was catchy but also something relatable. That’s when I created my debut song “Insomnia” I wrote “Insomnia” because I was yearning for validation i was yearning to be loved which made me lose myself in a person that I thought loved me. After releasing “Insomnia” I gained recognition for its raw vulnerability and honest portrayal of love and heartache. Since then I’ve been working on my latest album “Rendition” this album is about discovering myself and what it means to have self love . My commitment and authenticity has led me to the great journey I’ve embarked on in this industry I strive to create songs that resonate on a deep and personal level I’m so grateful for opportunities that I’ve crossed paths with and I can’t wait for more to come.
