Exploring Life & Business with Christy Brown of Little Luxuries Travel®

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christy Brown.

Hi Christy, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I entered the travel industry in 2013 as an independent contractor with a large agency, where I specialized in Disney Destinations. After five years — and rising to become the #2 advisor in the company — I knew it was time to take the leap into entrepreneurship and create something of my own. That’s when I founded Little Luxuries Travel®.

What began as a one-woman venture has grown into an award-winning, multi-million-dollar boutique agency with nine powerhouse women advisors across the country. While Disney and Universal theme parks remain an important part of what we do, our portfolio has expanded to include hand-selected luxury resorts worldwide, as well as both ocean and river cruises. Along the way, we’ve built strong partnerships with all-inclusive resorts, destination management companies, and luxury hoteliers — all with the goal of delivering the most exceptional experiences to our discerning clients.

Our team invests heavily in traveling ourselves — cultivating meaningful relationships with top suppliers and bringing back exclusive perks and firsthand expertise for our clients. At the end of the day, it’s about creating journeys that are seamless, personalized, and elevated — the kind of experiences you simply won’t find in a brochure or a blog.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not at all. I officially opened Little Luxuries Travel® in December 2018, and after an incredible first year of growth, the entire travel industry came to a standstill with the global pandemic. Watching everything collapse almost overnight was devastating — but rebuilding from that point remains one of the proudest achievements of my career.

It was an incredibly difficult season, but it taught me invaluable lessons about resilience, leadership, and the strength of our client relationships. What began as a nightmare ultimately reshaped me as a business owner and as a leader. Looking back, I can even say I’m grateful for the experience — because it proved both to me and to my team that we could weather the storm and come out stronger.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
At Little Luxuries Travel®, we help our clients discover the world in a way that is effortless, seamless, and unforgettable. From luxury all-inclusive resorts to multi-country European itineraries, from private villas with chefs for families who want true escape to adventurous journeys across Costa Rica, we design it all. Every trip is custom-built with concierge-level planning and thoughtful details, so our clients never have to second-guess a thing — they simply arrive, enjoy, and return home with memories of their best vacation ever.

What I’m most proud of is the powerhouse team of women who represent Little Luxuries Travel®. We’re not just a collection of advisors — we’re a collective force. We share expertise, collaborate constantly, and push one another to raise the bar higher every year. That culture of excellence is the backbone of our success.

And what sets us apart is this: we don’t do “cookie-cutter.” Many agencies can book a trip; very few can deliver the kind of elevated, personalized experiences we create. We combine firsthand travel knowledge, exclusive global partnerships, and white-glove service with something harder to replicate — genuine care. Our clients know that we treat every itinerary as if it were for our own families. That’s why they trust us, return to us, and refer us — because they feel the difference.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Two qualities have been central to my success: attention to detail and servant leadership. In the luxury travel space, details are everything — the difference between a trip that is good and one that is unforgettable often comes down to the smallest touches. I take pride in ensuring nothing is overlooked, from the logistics to the personalized flourishes that make each experience feel uniquely crafted.

Equally important is how I lead. I believe in leadership that empowers rather than dictates — being “here to help” rather than “here to boss.” My role is to guide, support, and elevate my team so they can deliver their very best work. That approach has created a culture where collaboration thrives, clients feel the difference, and the agency as a whole continues to grow stronger.
