Dr. Katosha Muse hails from Memphis, Tennessee. She achieved a Bachelor of Science degree in 2004 at
Tennessee State University and successfully completed her graduate studies at Ross University School of Medicine, in the western Caribbean on the island of Dominica, West Indies, graduating from both with honors. Dr. Muse has demonstrated outstanding success, positioning herself among the top residents in her graduating class and showcasing exceptional leadership as a Captain in the United States Air Force. She brings a wealth of expertise in family medicine and advanced women’s health, delivering a broad spectrum of comprehensive Family Medicine services. She possesses extensive expertise in executing a variety of procedures, encompassing vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and additional surgical and in-office interventions such as liposuction, laser hair removal, bioidentical hormone replacement, and vaginal rejuvenation. She serves as a collaborating physician for multiple local nurse practitioners, empowering them to pursue self-employment and effectively address the healthcare gap in the Shelby County region. Her dedication to education is unwavering, and she has profoundly influenced the healthcare sector. She actively contributes to the development of future healthcare leaders by mentoring physician assistant students, alongside nurse practitioners and other healthcare professionals from various local institutions. Dr. Muse has reached a remarkable milestone as a notable alumni of the 40 under 40 constituency and as a member of the prestigious Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. Dr. Muse derives immense satisfaction from engaging with her family and close friends, leading initiatives in volunteer work. She played a pivotal role in establishing the Muse Foundation Inc, a non-profit organization dedicated to addressing the diverse needs of the community and providing healthcare education to youth. She has committed herself to serving the healthcare community of Shelby County for the past decade.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Launching a practice comes with its own set of challenges, particularly when it comes to managing people, patients, and the business itself. Steering through the complexities of the healthcare system while uncovering the constraints faced by physicians and tackling the obstacles that hinder adequate care for underserved communities has proven to be an immense challenge. My journey has been marked by success, largely fueled by my meaningful interactions with clients, business partners, and staff. By remaining authentic and committed to doing right by others, I have navigated this path with integrity.
