Liz, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
After graduating college with my marketing degree, I worked in the corporate world for consumer behavior marketing firms. But three corporate relocations with my husband for his career plus two kids led to a shift in my work life.
It was also at the same time businesses were beginning to establish themselves online with Facebook and Twitter accounts, and simple websites.
Almost everything in the online business world has an offline parallel, and I knew that I could pair my marketing knowledge with my social media, website, and SEO knowledge, and help small businesses local to me with their social media, websites, and SEO (search engine optimization).
Eli Rose Social Media, LLC was founded in January of 2011, and now serves clients from coast to coast.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Entrepreneurship was never on my list of life goals, but it was something that organically presented itself. Because of that, I think it helped make the ride of being a business owner more smooth than not.
Of course, every type of business has its own challenges, but I think one factor that’s fairly unique to social media and online marketing is how quickly it changes. This is also a top concern (or complaint) I hear from clients – there’s so much to know and stay up on because of how fast things move and change online.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Eli | Rose Social Media, LLC offers social media, online marketing, SEO, business blogging, social advertising, and integrated marketing strategy services to small business owners and internal teams who want help establishing and growing the online presence of their business.
Born out of the idea of helping those who need it most and the desire to work with clients where we can make the biggest impact for the good of their businesses, the mission and goals of Eli Rose Social Media have always been centered around providing simple, straight-forward, and affordable online marketing strategy, training, and management to small business owners and independent professionals.
We pride ourselves on working with our small business clients in whatever capacity they need us. We are very flexible with how we work, and are happy to be as hands-on or hands-off as a client needs us to be. We have small business clients across several industries, from coast to coast, and each with their own needs – some who want us to help them set up their online marketing strategy and they take it from there, some who want us to strategize, implement, and manage it all on an ongoing basis on their behalf, and some who prefer some combination of assistance in between.
How do you define success?
Success to me is making a real difference with our small business clients. Small businesses or teams have to manage all of the same tasks as medium or large companies, but with a tiny (but mighty) workforce.
Online marketing and social media has been a great leveler for small businesses. Those moments when you see a strategy come together and be well-executed or your clients have those “aha” moments of how to make all of these online marketing pieces work together are the absolute best!
