Today we’d like to introduce you to Marcus Stevenson.
Hi Marcus, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Distinguished Staffing started as an idea amongst like-minded family members in different industries All wanted to capitalize on their experiences and make a difference. The CEO was a military commander, charged with recruiting for both the United States Air Force and the United States Space Force. He felt that his expertise in recruiting could be used to make a difference by inspiring and helping people in his home town of Memphis, Tennessee find employment.
In April 2017, all things came together to start the company, with self-financing being a huge concern. The company grew from 1 contract with 4 people to over 100 people spread out through 8 different companies and 5 industries.
Today’s challenges are simply getting the right contracts and getting those eager job seekers employed. Distinguished Staffing continues to strive towards sending hungry and quality employees to met the rigorous demands of today’s logistical ,administrative, janitorial, and hospitality industries.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been smooth, as with any business we must be able to endure the ups and downs. Our “downs” come from the lack of contracts and the failure to secure good talent for our pools of candidate.
We’ve been impressed with Distinguished Staffing, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Our mission is to create a mutually beneficial working environment that serves the Employee’s training and resource needs, the Customer’s timely production needs, and the community’s employment and contribution needs.
Vision: We will create and maintain a staffing company focused on supporting the employee need for proper training and resources, while affording them the opportunity to excel in the work environment. We will ensure that our customers receive well-trained and disciplined employees through our on-site management program and timely responses to customer feedback.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Established: The Distinguished Staffing Agency was created and established as of May 1st, 2018 as a Limited Liability Company (LLC).
Founding members are Marcus Stevenson, and Vermisha Stewart.

25 years Military leadership experience: Program manager responsible for Billion-dollar space assets and attached crew force management. Skilled academic instructor, planner, operator, and supervisor of 345 members.

15+ years accounting and HR experience: Managed major contracts and resources for industry leaders.
