Exploring Life & Business with Rachel Lee of Rachel Lee Floral and Event Design

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rachel Lee.

Hi Rachel, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
I’ve always had a passion for designing and planning. My belated mother and greatest motivator and inspiration, Martha B. Smith, cultivated my love for design at a very young age by letting me design rooms in our home, helping her with crafts, and allowing my creativity to shine.

As far back as I can remember, I have loved using my creativity to make things around me more beautiful. I realized my love for event design and florals when I started planning small company events at my then workplace in 2012 and when I began creating small floral arrangements as a hobby.

Watching people celebrate this life we are blessed to live and being surrounded by luxury sparked something in me but it wasn’t until I planned my own wedding in 2016 that I knew I wanted to turn my hobby and love for design into a business.

In 2018, I launched With Love by Rachel Lee, which I later rebranded to Rachel Lee Floral and Event Design, and currently doing business as Rachel Lee Events. Although I have so much in store and it’s only the beginning, I am proud of how far I’ve come and it’s been so rewarding and a blessing to witness.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
“To whom much is given, much is required.” (Luke 12:48). It has not been a smooth road, more like an uphill climb to get to where I am today and even now I still have so much more I want to achieve and so much more to learn. It’s a journey that I’m excited to be on.

Being able to overcome imposter syndrome and struggles with balancing life as a wife, mom, and full-time employee while continuing to learn and grow my business hasn’t been easy and it’s a continual struggle, but when you love what you do, it doesn’t feel like work.

I’m so thankful for my husband Cj Lee, and our children, they are truly my WHY and also my support system who continue to support and motivate me, even when I’m pulled in 20 directions. I thank God for my drive and strength to continue to overcome.
