Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Thomas.
Hi Sarah, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
After being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, I turned to yoga to heal, adapt, and stay grounded. What started as a personal journey quickly grew into a calling—to help others find strength and peace through movement and mindfulness.
I’m the author of Chair Yoga for Multiple Sclerosis and Chronic Pain, a Lululemon Legacy Ambassador, and a certified health and wellness lifestyle coach. I’ve had the honor of teaching in spaces like St. Jude, UAMS, and Zen Studios, always to make yoga accessible to everybody.
Living with MS has shaped how I teach and connect. My mission is to inspire others to live fully—no matter their diagnosis.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been a smooth road. Living with multiple sclerosis means navigating constant unpredictability—some days my body doesn’t cooperate, and that can be frustrating both personally and professionally.
Starting a wellness business while managing a chronic illness comes with unique challenges. There were moments when fatigue, brain fog, or physical limitations made it hard to show up the way I wanted to. I had to honor my body’s needs without letting them define or limit me.
There was also the emotional side—pushing past doubt, advocating for accessibility in wellness spaces, and building something meaningful in an industry that often overlooks people with chronic conditions.
But through it all, I’ve found strength in the practice, in community, and purpose. The obstacles taught me to be more compassionate, creative, and intentional and they’re part of why I do this work today.
As you know, we’re big fans of 365 Yoga Dream. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
My business was born out of a desire to make yoga accessible for people like me—those living with multiple sclerosis, chronic pain, or limited mobility. I specialize in chair yoga and gentle movement, offering practices that meet people where they are, both physically and emotionally.
One of the things I’m most proud of is my book, Chair Yoga for Multiple Sclerosis and Chronic Pain. It’s more than just poses on a page—it’s a tool for daily healing. To support readers even further, I created an online subscription that offers guided yoga videos that align with the chapters of the book. These videos help people move safely and confidently at their own pace, right from home.
What sets my brand apart is the heart behind it. This isn’t about perfect poses—it’s about feeling better, tuning in, and showing up for yourself with compassion. I know what it’s like to live with a chronic condition, and I’ve built everything I offer—from my classes to my coaching—with that in mind.
I want people to know that this is a space for them. Whether you’re newly diagnosed or just looking for a way to reconnect with your body, there’s a place for you here.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
My biggest advice to anyone just starting—whether in wellness, entrepreneurship, or life after a diagnosis is to start where you are, not where you think you should be.
When I was starting, I thought I had to have it all figured out, be perfectly consistent, and never show vulnerability. But the truth is, that showing up authentically is what builds trust, connection, and impact. You don’t have to wait until you feel “ready.” You learn by doing, by trying, by listening—and sometimes by resting.
I also wish I had known that my lived experience was my superpower. At first, I tried to hide or downplay my MS diagnosis, thinking it made me less credible. Now I know it’s one of the reasons people feel seen and safe in my classes. Whatever you’re going through use it. Let it inform your work, not limit it.
And finally, find your community. Surround yourself with people who see your vision, even when it’s still taking shape. That support can make all the difference.
