Today we’d like to introduce you to Stacy Hobson.
Hi Stacy, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started selling real estate in 2006. I was able to jump into the foreclosure market because of my relationship with asset managers at Countrywide (now Bank of America). I broke into the foreclosure market with very little experience. It consumed 100% of my business from 2008-2012. When the market crashed, I had more foreclosures than I could handle. As the foreclosures starting drying up, my business tapered off. My income changed drastically. I had all of my eggs tossed in the foreclosure basket. I switched from full time to part time and begin teaching high school Biology. I taught school from 2012-2016. Although I loved teaching, real estate was my passion. In 2016, I created a plan, diversifying my portfolio, became a broker and opened J Hunter Realty. That was the best decision I made thus far!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I jumped into the real estate market selling foreclosures and short-sales. I didn’t prepare for any other market which was a big mistake on my part. I didn’t have the right team to move forward. It is hard to move forward when everyone is not on the same page and are not 100% committed to real estate goals.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about J Hunter Realty?
I am the managing broker and owner of J Hunter Realty. There are many men in my life that have molded me into the person I am today named J Hunter- My grandfather was John Hunter Sr. My uncles are John Hunter, James Hunter and Jimmie Hunter (as well as Anthony and Melvin Hunter). The name J Hunter just made sense. We are a team of 4 that specialize in residential real estate. We love working with sellers, 1st and 2nd homebuyers, foreclosures, veterans, investors and new construction to name a few.
We are most proud of the excellent service we provide to our clients as well as our 5 star ratings. We provide extensive home buyer consultations to create a path to homeownership specifically for you. We pride ourselves on being a small company with big results.
What were you like growing up?
I have always been family oriented and kept a small circle of friends. We have had 2 family reunions and I organized them both.😂😂. I have always been fascinated with different cultures and different parts of the world. I love reading poetry and books.
