Hi Tiffany, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am a wife, a mother of 3 boys, and a Registered Nurse. Most would refer to me as a NursePrenuer. I’m a native Memphian that graduated from Hamilton High School. My husband and I created The Candle Bakery in 2011 at an indoor local flea market at an old K-Mart building.
However, the flea market was short-lived. After the closing of the flea market, we were invited to open a kiosk in the local malls. After a year or so after the local malls, we finally open a brick-and-mortar location.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Oh, it was a struggle after 2 years of opening our storefront. We had some major family issues that lead us to close the store. However, we closed for 4 years, we relaunched and we’ve been going strong ever since.
As you know, we’re big fans of The Candle Bakery. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
We specialize in handcrafted whimsical bakery-style candles. Our candles are not your ordinary jar candles. We manufacture candles that look like bakery pastries such as parfaits, cupcakes, cakes, and more.
Having these style candles set us apart from other candle brands. Our brand is very fun and unique, you will not see our candles duplicated anywhere else. They are very unique, smell amazing and make a great conversation starter.
What do you think about luck?
I wouldn’t say luck has played a part in my life or business. I have always believed that having a strategy and seizing available opportunities will always work in your favor. I’m also a firm believer that what God has for you no one else can’t take from you. What’s for you, is for you no matter what. So I wouldn’t necessarily say luck has contributed to my life or business.
