Hidden Gems: Meet Alaina Barnes of Love Laine Aesthetics & Wellness Spa

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alaina Barnes.

Alaina Barnes

Thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Love Laine Wellness Spa was created to bring about change in customer service and wellness education. I started my business because I wanted to become the person that I was often looking for in my skin therapist.

I am the Esthetician who understands insecurities and will help you to achieve beautiful skin by educating and guiding you through the process.

My struggle with excessive hair, hyperpigmentation, and weight inconsistency led me to want to know more and help others who showed signs and different symptoms of PCOS. I too was a person creating a false narrative about myself while unknowingly creating insecurities. I found my way to yoga and it has helped me to become more conscious and aware of my feelings and thoughts of my body. I now honor my body with food, exercise, and natural products in a way that makes me feel and look good to myself.

I also now offer a safe space to my clients for healing and pampering; to be seen and heard. We prioritize full-body wellness and create personalized plans to help combat any skin or health conditions that are the result of hormonal imbalances as we set and reach goals of clear skin and overall wellness.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
This journey has had many bumps in the road. I opened and scaled my business with my hard-earned money. Time, tears, and prayers are what it took for me to get where I am today. I remember when I first became licensed and I did Brazilian waxes out of my apartment.

I still have some of those same clients, 8 years later. Building a team has been one of the hardest challenges this far. I aim to connect with a team of professionals who operate in a manner that reflects the purpose of Love Laine and has the same goals to leave an impact.

I’m grateful for the long days at work and even the sleepless nights sometimes. I’m happy to say I’ve made it to year 5 and it’s only getting better!

As you know, we’re big fans of Love Laine Aesthetics & Wellness Spa. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Services at Love Laine help to bring awareness and naturally proven solutions to People of Color by educating and delivering optimal services that are catered to reverse skin and health conditions. We work alongside clients to find the most effective solutions and create a treatment plan that will achieve the desired results. We offer personalized solutions that work! As we learn; we share, with the intent to encourage a healthier glowing lifestyle. Love Laine has been known to deliver exceptional Brazilian and corrective intimate care results.

Aerolase Laser; Including NeoSkin(rejuvenation), NeoClear(acne), Melasma, Laser hair removal, Psoriasis, Eczema, and so much more. We are in collaboration with a local Physical Trainer with a background in Nutrition to help create personalized wellness plans. We also offer Assisted Stretch Therapy, Infrared Sauna, Private Yoga, and Sugaring Training to professionals and Esthetics students.

I am proud of the many lives we can change within a few months, concerning a wide range of skin and body concerns. I am proud of the confidence that it has created within the community. I am most proud of consistent growth throughout the years as we are entering into year 5 of business.

We are particularly grateful to be able to reach and connect with a large audience to be able to change lives in a healing space. I’m proud to be able to build genuine relationships that push me to my full potential. I am grateful for my community of employees who believe in the work that we are providing.

What were you like growing up?
I was kinda quiet growing up. I actually still struggle with social anxiety sometimes. I have to give myself a pep talk before lol. In high school, I started to come out of my shell. I was in the choir and my 9th grade history teacher talked me into doing spoken word and that’s when I realized I have a way with words. I have always enjoyed being in a learning space.

The human body has always interested me. I thought I wanted to be a Sex Ed teacher, then I thought I maybe wanted to deliver babies. I feel like everything has been going in a full circle and I’m doing exactly what I’m supposed to do!
