Today we’d like to introduce you to Jerry Herrien.
Hi Jerry, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I think there are multiple things that have attributed to my start and where I’m at today. I can humbly say that it was God that has brought me to this point.
I’ve always felt like I was very intelligent, but I could never get the job that I wanted. “I have a great work ethic, I’m intelligent, creative, I deserve a great job,” I would think to myself. Submitting hundreds of job applications still didn’t deliver me luck in my search. One day, the thought struck me that maybe that is so because I have another route. That route was ownership.
Always in the back of my mind was the fact that I’m the one who will “break generational curses.” Something that is deeply rooted and requires strong willpower, focus, and determination. I’ve had a few tough times and ‘beautiful failures’ that have led me to this point in my journey and prepared me for where I’m at and where I’m headed.
HipHop Quote Room was created with my family in mind.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
As far as life, the road has not always been smooth. I haven’t mentioned this to even many of my family members but I was struck by deep depression at a time.
It caused me to isolate myself from everybody and it was something that took a lot of strength to overcome. I had to really tap into my inner self because running a business can be an everyday thing.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about HipHop Quote Room?
HipHop Quote Room is a media/news company. We are the “Room” for all things rap & hip-hop & provide our community with hip-hop music, news, videos, interviews, and more.
We do provide marketing and promotional services to artists of various sizes (playlisting, blog placements, social media campaigns, plus more).
What sets our brand apart is our emphasis on ‘Quoting’ artists. Rather it is something the artist said in a post, video, or lyrics. We highlight significant or eye-catching quotes and turn them into social media posts. When it comes down to marketing, that has been a key factor in increased social media engagement and reaches.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
The characteristic that is most important to my success is my ability to dream. I have huge faith that I can create any reality that I want and that anything is possible. There’s always a way to do something, achieve something, or make something better.
