Hi Jordan Knight and CaDarius Buckingham, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
The Sober Bartenders started with a simple belief: everybody deserves to be part of the party. Too often, if you weren’t drinking, you got stuck with a water or a soda while everybody else had something handcrafted in their hand. That didn’t sit right with us.
We knew Memphis knows how to throw a party—and we knew there had to be a better way. So we built something different: a mobile bartending service focused on experience first, with great drinks for everybody. Whether you want something strong or spirit-free, you should have a drink that feels just as thoughtful, just as celebratory, as the moment itself.
What started as an idea turned into a real movement: making sure every guest, no matter what’s in their cup, feels included, seen, and celebrated.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Starting something different in a city like Memphis ain’t always easy. Some folks didn’t get why we cared so much about making sure non-drinkers had more than just a Sprite in their hand.
There were doubters. There were moments where it would’ve been easier to just blend in. But every time somebody pulled us to the side and said, “Thank you for thinking about me,” it reminded us why we hustle the way we do.
Building something meaningful takes a different kind of grind—and we’re proud we stuck to it.
