Today we’d like to introduce you to LaRonda Cannon.

Hi LaRonda, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Allow me to reintroduce myself. I am LaRonda Cannon, I have been in the industry longer than anyone can keep track of! I am a true master of the hair craft, just ask any of my happy clients. I’m married with 3 children. Two boys and a girl. I have been doing hair for more than 12 years and I have always had a dream to own several salons and a hair school. My dream came true 3 years ago when I opened my first salon “Snatched Roots Salon”.

A couple of months ago I decided to change the name of my salon to “Salon No. Sevyn”. (pronounced Salon Number Sevyn) naming it after my daughter her name is Sevyn. I was also able to make my other dream a reality by starting a hair school that opens this year. The name is “The Academy No. Sevyn”. It is a hair academy for all hair lovers. God has done some amazing things in my life and I’m so forever blessed that he chose me to give this beautiful vision too.

God has granted me the ability to take hair to new levels with confidence and expertise. I pay attention to detail to ensure you leave feeling and looking your best. My styling techniques will leave you with the perfect blonde, balayage, or whatever extension your soul desires. Whatever your hair goals, I have your best interest at heart, and the know-how to get you there.

I would say that I have a very kind and down-to-earth attitude, with an edgy, fierce, and electric vibe. I am all about creating the ultimate experience for everyone who sits in my chair. From effortlessly lived-in colors to bold platinum, and swoon-worthy vivids, natural hair, or locs I love pushing boundaries and creating styles that suit your personal hair goals.

Whether I’m behind a chair, exploring the outdoors, or traveling with my family, I never hide from a challenge because I know the result will always be worth it. I pride myself on providing a relaxing and high-end experience and truly listening to my clients so I can show them the beauty of hair.

If I can say this to anyone pursuing a dream, they DO come true. My recipe for such a successful business has been God, Prayer, Repeat. Use these 3 ingredients in your daily life and I guarantee you a successful and happy life.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Owning a business has not always been a smooth road. I’ve had my bumps, flat tires, ups, downs, and rock bottom moments, but I kept the faith and God saw me through.

Whatever obstacle I came to, there was NEVER a time when God didn’t see me through it. I kept the faith, kept praying and he saw me through EVERY TIME. Having a successful business isn’t having everyday obstacle-free with no care in the world cause you may experience some roadblocks, it’s about doing what you love, being happy, and ALWAYS speaking positively into your life regardless of the situation.

Knowing that God will always make a way for you. Knowing that he won’t ever bring you to a situation and leave you. Man, God is my bestfriend. He has always been by my side and had my back in EVERYTHING that I do.

We’ve been impressed with Salon No. Sevyn, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am a Salon owner and Hairstylist.

I specialize in the beauty of my client. I am most known for my eclectic style, and the ability to SNATCH ROOTS!! (hair). When a client gets out of my chair they would say I see why you call your salon “Snatched Roots” because you definitely snatched my roots!

I am proud of myself for achieving the goals that I set out to do. I have so much more in store and I can’t wait to show everyone what is in store.

My salon is located in the beautiful Midtown/Downtown area of Memphis Tennessee. I take pride in seeing my clients reactions before they leave my salon. I want your salon experience to be the best one could ever have. All hair and supplies in any service that you choose to book for is always included. Also, with every service the client receives an amazing Lemongrass and Peppermint Scalp Massage, Orange Peel and Eucalyptus Scalp Therapy, followed by a Complimentary chilled glass of wine of your choice. There will also be classes offered from The Academy No. Sevyn that will allow people to do hair with a worry free conscious of not having a proper license and not having the complete understanding of the Hair Industry. Our school will teach over 100 different hair techniques, Scalp Diseases, Sanitation and offer 1 on 1 help for anyone struggling to make their dream in the hair industry come true but lack the proper knowledge of the Hair Industry. We also will have classes introducing you to the business side of the industry, how to start a salon and the need to knows of the business taught by Entrepreneur, Author, and Life Coach
Ronica Tate.

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
Keep GOD first in everything that you do!!! The moment you master the ability to give all your worries to God and KNOW that he will provide for you. The whole game changes.

And when you’re exhausted, frustrated, anxious, worried, or just plain freaking out, lean on God for total understanding. If opportunity doesn’t knock! Build your own door! If the table that you want to sit at is full! Build your own table. And if the road that you desire to take has potholes, roadblocks, and construction signs TAKE IT. It will be life’s way of showing you the ups and the downs. Discipline, Hardwork, and Dedication. God will be there EVERY STEP OF THE WAY. I am living proof that God is ABLE!
