Chef Nicki Campbell or just “Chef” as she is affectionately called by her devoted fan base, is a self-taught culinary artist. Gaining inspiration from the rich
cultures of her Jamaican father and African-American mother, she creates dishes by memory that infuse flavors from all over the world. From American, Asian, and Mexican to the Caribbean, every day she prepares cuisine for the soul and shares the experience via her Facebook page Every Tings Irie. Due to her love of spreading joy via food no matter where she is. Chef has also adopted the moniker ChefOnDaPullUp because she offers catering services and will travel just about anywhere to bring you her delicious food and definitely happiness by the plateful! “Cooking is my passion. Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
A month away from acquiring a brick and mortar, the world went into quarantine. Due to Covid-19 my business took a major loss. At that point, I decided to start cooking live, via Facebook. As of today I have over 20k followers on that platform and business is starting to pick back up.
We’ve been impressed with Every Tings Irie LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am a traveling chef. I have an online business where I sell homemade sauces, seasonings, and apparel my website is www.chefondapullup.com
The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
I am my brand. Irie means, (well, pleasant, good) I choose to believe that I can create the world I wanna see. I learned the importance of never giving up. Even when things get tough and are beyond what I can control I still keep pushing. My goal is to leave a legacy and reach the masses by showing love humility and so much more by way of food.
