

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sande Neske.
Hi Sande, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
Hello, my name is Sande Neske of Cruise Planners Out and About Luxury Travel from Hunterdon county NJ. I am excited that I was asked to be interviewed for this publication. 1st I’d like to take this opportunity to tell you a little bit about the travel franchise I bought.
I’m sure you have heard of “Cruiseplanners” an American Express Travel representative with a tremendous reputation for quality & service. Even though the name says Cruise Planners we arrange more land tours. Our clients discover exciting adventures around the world. We specialize in arranging Private “Customized” tours just about anywhere on the planet.
A little personal history. I was in the music business since at age of 14. I played keyboards and bass guitar. I sang four nights a week all through high school. I worked for over 20 years in polka wedding bands up and down the east coast. I took classes at Trenton State for travel and radio, but my father said “Be a teacher instead.” So I taught cosmetology and worked at a hair salon styling hair for over 20 years. I NEEDED MORE.
I was then employed by Cumulus Broadcasting in the Promotions & Event department for 3 years when I was asked to be a Director For NEPA March of Dimes. During this time, I had my own radio talk show and fronted a dance party band. I still wasn’t satisfied till I bought my travel franchise. I now work 7 days a week and I’m HAPPY AS A CLAM.
My son Nick Neske worked as my associate for 3 years took the travel agent training and now is co-owner of OUR travel business.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
I was VERY lucky to have my son Nick take over half the business. It seems technology keeps evolving and Nick is right on top of every situation. Basically, he does everything except sales. He handles all the reservations and technology.
We ONLY sell our “preferred vendors” to ensure safety with our clients. We constantly update our certifications.
We have achieved “many” awards in the travel business including Sandals Resorts, Expeditions, and River cruises.
This gives us the “edge” with “exclusive” pricing.

We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
We were very fortunate when covid hit. Some agents were forced to resign. Most of our clients that had vacation plan in Europe were very flexible.
They simply moved the trip to the following year or moved their vacation to a Caribbean island. This was a little tricky but some of the islands and resorts were very accommodating to our tourists.
