Today we’d like to introduce you to Something Art Cafe.
Hi Something, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
We originally started as a skateboard company that is dedicated to the mini community of our home town ( Jonesboro, Arkansas ) Handprinted merchandise and artistic visions were our main mission. As we grew the brand we were fortunate to open a shop downtown (Something Skateboards / Art Gallery) that accumulated all our ventures, and as the shop grew, we needed more space to host our events and accommodate to our community. Therefore, Something Art Cafe was born! We aim to provide Northeast Arkansas and its neighboring areas with culture and an identity that reflects the diverse groups of people that inhabit them.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, the road has not always been smooth. We faced countless struggles that range from finding suppliers to finding spaces, and even finding funds. We started from scratch as much as we can with limited capital and developed every single product that’s available to the public today. Something Art Cafe, as a location, was definitely one of the hardest locations to achieve since there was a lot of factors that made this a hard road. We, however, are grateful for all the challenges and are ready for more!

Something Art Cafe is a collective concept that includes a coffee bar, restaurant, bar, art gallery, and live music venue under the same roof. It is a space where all the details are curated with a purpose, and is meant to entertain and connect people. We offer various things that range from coffee and artesian Philly cheesesteaks to artworks that are linked to museums. Our live music schedule is almost always full on the weekends with touring bands from all the genres you can think of. On weekdays we host open mics, trivia nights, and private events.
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
life is dull without taking risks. big risks create big rewards, and with that in mind, we will always take the risk. we will unapologetically take the risks just because that’s what we signed up for, and that’s the way it is meant to be.
