Inspiring Conversations with Alli C of Soul City Alchemy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alli C.

Hi Alli, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born and raised in Shelby County. The zip code on my birth certificate is 38128, but I grew up around Bartlett. I spent my time as a child like many 90’s kids – free to roam outside like a pack of wild children until the streetlights turned on. You didn’t want to get caught out any later or my sisters and I would be called home by the bellow of my father’s voice. My parents were atypical for Southern folks in the fact that I was raised up to be a free thinker and my spiritual beliefs fostered. I had unique early childhood interests like ancient Egypt, specifically mummies and their death practices, and I always had natural, intuitive animist beliefs – the trees, birds, and flowers were some of my earliest friends. Around my teen years, I began experimenting with all sorts of activities, and I lived an interesting dichotomy of dedicated honors student and party girl. I graduated with honors from the University of Memphis with my Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing. I worked as an emergency department nurse in North Memphis for many years to start my career. It was there that I started having very mystical and spiritual experiences while bedside nursing. It took many more years and finding sobriety in adulthood to put all the pieces together – I was practicing as an intuitive medium and healer while as a nurse the entire time, I just hadn’t labeled it as such and had kept the experiences to myself for the most part. I became a motherhood in 2016, and I went through a divorce in 2019. To find myself, I explored different healing modalities outside of traditional therapy, and by happenstance, I began training under my Reiki Master Teacher in 2021. I needed the tool to save myself from complications of Long Covid when the answers weren’t found in the western systems I had worked inside forever. And that it did, in 2024, I was able to avoid a hospitalization by applying the energy medicine I had learned to my own body. I have a medical record from that period in which the doctor noted “it is unusual, but it has resolved in the past 72 hours.” Is it unusual or was it reiki? I knew I had to share this gift with others, and I continued to train under my mentor until I became a Reiki Master in March 2025. Soon after, I launched Soul City Alchemy in Summer 2025, and since then, I have been working with local and international clients offering my own unique energy work blend that I call soul alchemy. I use my training as a nurse and Reiki Master Teacher as well as my intuitive mediumship and channeling skills to provide a soul level assessment and healing for the subtle body.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Yes and no. I cannot complain about my path in life as it has led me to this moment, and the path itself gave me the tools and the character to hold this role I cherish. I do look back and see many pieces of the puzzle that are only observable from the distance obtained from those moments and times. For example, my early fascination with death was a coping mechanism of losing my maternal grandmother at the age of 8. I had a new baby sister, and my mother was in her own grief while navigating postpartum. However, in my nursing and energy work roles, I believe that experience shaped me for the better as I have a deep capacity to walk with others on a grief path. I have assisted souls in both the physical and metaphysical realms during their transition, and I am blessed by that work.
Many healers come from a shared archetype of the wounded healer – our greatest hurts, struggles, and obstacles in life can be transmuted and alchemized into wisdom and medicine for others. Everyone can access the energy of this archetype to make change in their life, and I find it very empowering personally. I have struggled through many things in life – abuse, sexual violence, and addiction – and choosing to alchemize the pain into medicine for others is something I am proud of.
Not to mention, trusting in Spirit allows blessings to enter my path frequently. Things happen like kismet when I allow it. An example of things working smoothly would be my own mentor and reiki teacher moving into my neighborhood while I was on my journey with her. We made the connection, and I was able to barter services, like house and plant sitting, to obtain my reiki master training. This was crucial to me as a single mother who was struggling both financially and physically after the pandemic for a while. Experiences like these have allowed me to trust the process and the path, even if it gets bumpy along the road.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Soul City Alchemy is my intuitive energy practice. Memphis is my forever muse and home, and my first priority is establishing community in the 901 and offering my Soul Sessions to local clients. I work through word of mouth and referral mostly, and I offer mobile services or have two locations (one indoors, one outdoors) for clients that desire in-person work. I offer a free clarity call to establish scope and safety and develop an intuitive sense of how to customize my work for their individual needs. Soul Sessions are intuitively designed with each client in mind, but they are always a blend of reiki energy healing and intuitive insights I obtain through my psychic senses when I assess the subtle body. As a nurse and a mystic, I have a unique skillset that lends itself well to this work. I am trauma and nervous system informed, and I pride myself on staying grounded even during channeling by focusing on body cues like breath and muscle tension, so the work is always gentle and safe, but effective and transformative. I always provide an integrative post-session report, and I do check-ins after report delivery with my clients, so they never feel alone. The report focuses on how you can apply the insights into your daily life which allows you to become the healer in your own life. I am nobody’s guru, but I am definitely a soul guide. The goal of all sessions is to allow your body to enter a state of relaxation while held in sacred safety, this allows the stories stored in the subtle body to come forward for witnessing, and that safe witnessing allows for release. The release is like a reset to the energy body and allows you to operate in a state of more coherence which allows for more safety and health over time.

I love 1:1 work, but I also enjoy working with small groups to offer guided meditation and reiki healing and intuitive energy readings. I also offer direct 1:1 mentorship for reiki teaching and attunement for those who seek more. I am very proud of my reiki training as my mentor has a direct and traceable lineage to Mikao Usui who founded the Usui Method of Natural Healing which is considered the origin of reiki as we know it today.

Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
It would have to be the many hours spent outside either in the water, in the trees, or just building houses for the fairies.
