Inspiring Conversations with Betzabeth Rojas of BYS FACTORY EXPRESS LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Betzabeth Rojas

Hi Betzabeth, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
BYS Factory Express was born in early 2017 out of a personal need shared by some friends, my husband and me. We had just arrived in Memphis, TN, from Venezuela and urgently needed to send essential supplies to our families and friends—basic necessities like clothing, food, hygiene products, and medicine that were nearly impossible to find at that time. We understood this struggle firsthand because we had lived through it ourselves.
My husband and I started researching ways to make this assistance possible from a city with very few Venezuelans, where traditional shipping methods were extremely expensive. Most companies handling these shipments were based in Miami, FL, making logistics even more challenging.
Bringing this project to life was not easy, especially as the situation in Venezuela worsened. Our first option was a contact in Atlanta, GA, but to ship through them, we had to deliver our first shipment—17 boxes shared among four families, to Nashville, TN. Finally, on February 24, 2017, our first shipment to Venezuela was successfully sent.
However, my goal was to find the best service providers in this field. I researched companies with the strongest reputations and reached out to several, but since our community in Memphis was still small, many did not consider it viable to work with us. After multiple attempts, one company trusted us. Their representative visited us, and we finalized an agreement—but with one condition: we had to deliver our shipments to their warehouses in Miami.
At that moment, my experience in import logistics in Venezuela and my industry connections guided me in establishing partnerships with several logistics operators in the U.S. Additionally, as the Venezuelan community in Memphis grew, some had relatives in Colombia, which encouraged me to seek partnerships for shipping to that country as well.
Almost simultaneously, we expanded to include shipments to Venezuela and Colombia. The need to help our loved ones and share what we had here brought joy to both the senders and the receivers. This gratitude and happiness spread by word of mouth, reaching other nationalities, which led us to continue expanding our partnerships and destinations.
This business is built on consistency, trust, honesty, and a commitment to finding the best logistics partners who, despite challenges, ensure that the packages we send with love and sacrifice arrive in the best possible condition.
Over time, our business has evolved and adapted to the needs of our customers. Today, we not only offer shipping services but also provide money transfer services, assistance with filling out immigration forms, accounting services for small businesses, and a space where customers can find Venezuelan and Colombian products.
Today, we ship not only to Venezuela and Colombia but also to Panama, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Ecuador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Guatemala, El Salvador, Peru, Chile, and Argentina. We also have the capability to ship to the European Union and offer deliveries to all cities in the United States.
Additionally, we have two extra drop-off locations: one in Nashville, TN, and another in Little Rock, AR. For some of the mentioned countries, we also provide air shipments from any city in the U.S.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
This journey has been guided by the hand of God, as He has placed the right people in our path—those who have helped us, trusted us, and allowed us to form strong partnerships at every step. Thanks to His guidance, we have been able to sustain and grow our business over these past eight years.
We have had to learn the customs regulations of each country, educate our customers on compliance with the rules, and entrust every package into God’s hands so that it reaches its destination safely.
The specific challenges in each country can be difficult, but people understand where they come from and what to expect. Faith and trust in God have allowed us to continue operating in some of these places despite the obstacles.
I serve the Hispanic community, and my greatest challenge is meeting the deep need to help our people. Every message I receive from a customer thanking us for our service motivates us to keep working hard and improving every day.
At the beginning, my customers would drop off their packages in the parking lot of my house. Later, we moved to a small warehouse with very few resources. Today, we have a welcoming space where people come together, share experiences, and support one another.
We are deeply grateful to each of our customers for being part of our journey and for trusting in our work.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
Our success is the result of a perfectly synchronized effort, where each link in the chain plays a crucial role. While I manage the day-to-day operations, customer service, and coordination with our team, my husband, Sergio, takes care of the heavy lifting. His dedication and hard work are fundamental to our business, and I am deeply grateful for his support and commitment.
I also want to acknowledge the business representatives and partners who believed in us, gave us the opportunity to collaborate, and guided us along the path to growth. Their trust and support have been invaluable.
Above all,
I am grateful to God and to our customers. Their recommendations and word-of-mouth referrals have allowed us to reach people from all over, expanding our reach and strengthening our mission. Without their trust, BYS Factory Express would not be what it is today.
