Today we’d like to introduce you to Bibi Quiles.
Hi Bibi, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I have been a professional DJ for over 15 years. I am currently the owner of DJ Keelez & Associates, where a team of associate DJs and I focus on providing high-energy, super-fun weddings and special events. We are diversity and inclusion experts, proudly serving LGBTQ+ and multicultural weddings, festivals, and virtual events. I have DJed for many of the nation’s top corporations, including Pixar, Netflix, Speedo, Pfizer, and Dell Technologies, as well as for several celebrities, including Al Pacino, Kim Kardashian, Beau Bridges, Randy Jackson, Jackson Rathbone, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, and Paul Stanley frontman for the band KISS. I also work on and off campus with major universities such as USC, UCLA, and Duke University, in addition to working with several other private, retail, and corporate clients worldwide.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road by any means. I have had to work hard to get to where I am today. Navigating a career as a female DJ in a world entirely of mostly male DJs was a challenge, and I had to prove myself seriously before I was able to make a name for myself in the industry.
We’ve been impressed with DJ Keelez & Associates, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We are a woman-owned, proudly LGBTQ+-owned DJ agency specializing in high-energy, fun, unique weddings, parties, corporate functions, and virtual events. We customize the music to fit your particular needs and seamlessly mix different genres of music to ensure the energy level is just right. Our DJ team has performed at 1000+ events, so we know how to rock a dance floor.
Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memory is exploring new music with my family and friends. We would constantly share music. No matter if it was new or old, if it was something good, we had to listen! If we heard something we liked, the radio was immediately turned on, and a dance party likely ensued.
