Inspiring Conversations with Chelsey Woods of CDW Logistics

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chelsey Woods.

Hi Chelsey, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
It was late 2018 I left Memphis, TN with three duffel bags on the road to Clarksville, TN. I moved back in with my older brother. I was down to nothing, no money, just praying off hope and asking God for a breakthrough.

One morning I decided to google truck driving schools and I came across CRST due to my financial situation that was the only school that would help me get my CDL if I stayed with them on a 10-month contract. I did a year with CRST just to get my experience up a bit more. I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for my brother Erik, he’s on to me and really gave me that push that I really need I’m very proud and honored to have him.

I’ve been in the trucking industry for three in a half years now CDW Logistics LLC has been doing very well for a year now also I’m currently in the process of buying a truck hopefully I can start hiring drivers before the year out. This journey wasn’t easy and I know it’s more to come but in due time I know I’ll succeed.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road was definitely something I had my days where I cried I was missing my family. It was days I didn’t have enough money to eat.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
CDW Logistics LLC is named after me. I’m a professional truck driver, I haul general commodities in 48 states. What sets me apart from others is I’m very dedicated and passionate about what I do.

If people ever need anything hauled across the world you can count on CDW Logistics to get it there.

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Take your time when it comes to finding a mentor. I’ve networked with a few people and still keep in contact with them as well.
