Today we’d like to introduce you to Hayley Davis.
Hi Hayley, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
As a young girl, I always sketching clothing and furniture, constantly redesigning my room without realizing why. Looking back, it’s clear that passion for design long before I went to college. I attended Abilene Christian University where I earned my degree in Interior Design and met my husband in my final year. My husband and I moved to Memphis in 2008. Before embarking on my own I worked for several local talented designers. I took on a variety of small projects for friends and acquaintances. As my clientele built up I decided it was time for me to take a leap of faith and in 2017 I started Hayley Davis Interiors. In 2020 things began to pick up with both large and small projects. It has been so much fun and I have been blessed with amazing clients. In 2024 HDI participated for the first time in Art by Design, it was such a fun and great experience.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Starting your own business is never a smooth road. In the interior design world, the business side naturally ebbs and flows – some months or years you are incredibly busy while others are quiet.
Along the way, I’ve leanred so many lessons about what works,what doesn’t work and everything in between. Every project teaches something new – I know I’m always learning! I’ve also learned the importance for advocating for thoughtful design details and creative vision that brings a client’s project to life.
We’ve been impressed with Hayley Davis Interiors, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
HDI designs spaces with a focus on our clients needs and wants, while staying true to the integrity of the home or building, to create a place to live, work and play.
We provide a comprehensive interior design services in Memphis and beyond. Our offerings encompass hands-on project management from the initial consultation to procurement and final installation.

Hayley Davis Interiors offers full service design for both residential and commercial projects. But if you are not taking on a full build or remodel,that’s totally fine we also offer furnishings & styling and paint consultations!
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
My biggest advice is getting involved with your community by joining a local organization.
Don’t hesitate to reach out to someone in your field – ask all the questions! You never know what you might learn.
And put yourself out there, don’t be afraid to step into the uncomfortable. Go to that event you have been thinking about, I promise, you’ll end up meeting someone that knows someone, and it could lead to something great. I am still slowly learning this one!
